Apparrently, Sir Patrick Stewart and James Corden had a bit of a tiff at the Glamour Awards, and spent some time trading insults onstage.

I figured she meant that she'd rather see Stewart doing anything on stage, even dying, as it would be better than Corden.

Well, I hope so. I'm already dreading seeing him stink up what has, so far, been a vastly improved season of Doctor Who on Saturday.

I actually don't mind Corden too much. He can be quite funny.

Really, I'd like to see a video of what happened, as this BBC article gives a poor impression of the incident. I'd be inclined to think, based off what I've read about Stewart's sense of humour, that he intended the "belly" comment as a bit of light-hearted heckling, and Corden took it the wrong way.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for any footage of the incident, anyway.

I never really liked Corden or found him funny, but Stewart should really stay away from the jokes as well :S

Having watched that video, I definitely think it was a bit of "award show" banter that fell flat.

And it seems my interpretation of Zoe Saldana's comments was bang on. Whoever wrote that BBC article fucked the quote up and give the wrong impression of events.

I have always considered Corden to be enormously unfunny and a general twat, but I have to say in his defence here, Sir Patrick really was dying on stage. Still, I was sorry to see the other stars getting their oar in later on. So someone's joke fell flat, it's an awards show, it happens, move on.
More than anything else I'm amazed by the play this story is getting. Radio news, BBC News front page... slow news day.

He wrote a TV show called 'Gavin & Stacey', which is really big over here, as a result he thinks he's a god, but is actually a big prick! From watching the clip, I think Stewart had been on the Romulan ale (certainly something stronger than the Earl Grey). But given that Corden has based his career on jokes about the size of his belly, he might have accepted the ribbing with a little more grace or humour.

But watching Stewart trying to crack the jokes, I am reminded of that scene in DS9, where Jadzia is winding Worf up about his lack of humour. He tells her something along the lines of 'Why, on the Enterprise, I was regarded as one of the funniest crew members!'

Jadzia sighs and replies 'That must have been one dull ship ...'
