SUPERMAN (2012)

I'm surprised at the indication that some people are making about winter releases. Isn't the winter movie season known for being a bedrock of big releases?

As for Daredevil...keep in mind it was released in February (Valentine's Day, to be exact). The late winter season is very different from the Thanksgiving-Christmas winter season.

They are about some people who did some stuff somewhere, and then something happened and then there were credits and the lights came back on.

;)

And there was a song at the end, I think.

I remember that. It was this, right?

Nope, this one.

If we have Superman, I hope we can have more action this time, maybe with a little Darkseid to the mix...

Now that Hobbit has lost it's director, I think Warners will probably move Superman to December 2012.

I think Superman around Christmas time would do good. StarTrek was going to be realesed on Christmas. Avatar is a perfect example. If it does well, they will release the sequel in the summer. Wasent one of the Toy Story's released in winter?

No reports of Darkseid which I why I believe Broccoli referenced "Smallville Season Ten" which seems like the villain for the finale season will be Darkseid...and that article I referred to before did not indicate Darkseid. Only Luthor and Brainiac. We'll have to wait of course for further news about the plot and casting.

I personally don't get why they still think the time of year is important. Sure, going up against competition is going to affect things, but why is it all summer or winter? Who cares if the movie comes out February 1st rather than June 1st? People don't only go to the movies two days a year or something for crying out loud.

If anything, like most business models these days, it all seems self perpetuating. They only release movies at specific times. Those movies do well. So, clearly, it was the timing of their release that was the crux of the success.

Absurd.

I heard somewhere that before Jaws came out...Summer was considered a dead time for movies as everyone was outside.
Unless you live somewhere very cold, then yeah, the date shouldn't matter about seeing a movie.

As silly as it sounds I just hope the "Superman" music and opening sequence are used...at least.

Beyond Antares was the one who was hoping for Darkseid.

Hopefully Nolan doesn't try to impart the same sense of 'realism' on the Superman franchise as he did Batman.

I really don't care for Darkseid as a villain. I like the idea of Lex & Brainiac...maybe a lesser know villain thrown in just for fans.

JMHO.

I think once casting is out the way...this will put us all at ease.

Having Brainiac in the film will satisfy the over-the-top CGI requirement that seems to be prevalent in today's movies. But I think it would be a good idea to have more than one villain. Despite the massive camp in Superman 2, having the Kryptonians and Luthor together really jazzed it up.

Still, 2012 seems like a long time to wait. I'd rather they bring back the old serials. Have 45 minute mini-adventures that come out every 6 months or so attached to other movies.
