I've finally opened up an account for work, but I can't think of a real need for it personally. I use it at work, to keep the media up to date about wildfires.. they seem to like it.. whatever..

Me neither. I have better things to do than listen to some famous person prattle on about how they just went grovery shopping or took a dump.

I'm pretty sure none of the people here use it for that purpose.

I get several laughs every day from it, checking from my phone during my commute. That's good enough for me.

I use twitter to plan my monkey coup. So far we only have one recruit, a bonobo named Mittens who likes to smash his bananas into the keys.

So do I. Which is why the celebrities I follow are interesting people like Wil Wheaton and Adam Savage.

I use Twitter to build relationships with two kinds of people:

    1. People who have similar values and a similar vision of making the world a better place. These people share articles, links, blogs, and other info on self-improvement, altruism, leadership skills, spiritual growth, and other related issues.

    2. People who have businesses, products, or services that are similar to my own. In my case, I have a book on heroes coming out in the fall, and so every now & then I tweet up the book, or promote my blog on heroes (see my signature for the URL). As a network, we help promote each other's business interests.

I was one of those people who thought it was a load of nonsense and only signed up because I was bored one day but I've come to see it in a more positive light. I don't tweet much myself (because I have no life or friends) but I really think it does have its uses. During the recent UK election for example, watching the real time responses of people as they watched the leadership debates - and trying to spot the spin doctors working over time - was both fascinating and hilarious. And I've come across some really interesting articles and news stories that I don't think I'd have stumbled across without Twitter.

Is it the best thing since sliced bread? No. But it has its place and I can see why its so popular.

I get to go see both of them at wootstock in Minneapolis in a week. I'm a tad bit excited.

I like it as a news source, but man it's gotten really bad. There are some people who I follow who come across as full of themselves, and I really hate the whole retweeting thing. I thought the idea of following was to follow that person and not follow people who you don't know or don't want to. Well, appearently, it's follow this person, and then have to deal with retweets from 50 other people.

I don't know why I'm still on it, but if anyone wants to "follow" me, I've got the T logo somewhere.

Twitter the social networking site I use, normally, for my random thoughts. A very few people follow me there, but, if you decided you wanted to follow me, you'd probably just go :wtf: a lot.

I thought Twitter was perfectly stupid for quite a while, and I joined it only to follow the situation in Iran. But I've really gotten to like it: I like its minimalist quality, I like that it's all text. I only read a few people, but one of them I would consider a kind of Twitter virtuoso.

i dont retweet everything jus most interesting looking stuff.
