Do you name your cars? If so, what?

Michaela, Anglique de la Mer, Jupiter, & Julia.

Jupiter was a VW, so most other people called it "German Death Machine."

I don´t have a car, nor will I ever, nor do I want to...however the rest of my family and some friends name their cars.
I only remember "Luna" and "Raven". Can´t recall what kind of cars they were...besides that Raven was ... *surprize* a black one and Luna was silver.

My adored Golf GTI ~ number plate **** HOM was called 'Jean Luc' ~ the french man.

My beloved little fiat was called 'Marmite' because it was black and you either love it or you hate them.

The one I have at the moment ~ number plate M*** EUF is Murphy. Slightly unimaginative but I don't love him as much as I did the rest. (Don't tell him that thou!)

And yes ~ all the cars I've had I've thought of as male. Why Dr Freud?

Re: Do you name your cars or computers? If so, what?

I have an old Ford 4x4 named Slushy, because it's an automatic. Automatic transmissions were called "slush boxes" by disapproving mechanics because the early ones tended to self-destruct into a mess of ground-up metal filings, and heat damaged oil. It is about 25 years old now, but still doing fine, even though I bought it 4th hand, and very hard-used. I hope to have it for at least another 50. My mechanic tells me that cars with names "live longer".

My Smell XP Insipidron 1100 computer is named El Chupatiempo, because it is. ;) So, I gave it a label that says "evil inside", that looks just like the "intell inside" one it origionaly had. Maybe it needed a nicer name? But it was born evil, straight from the factory.

1968 Cougar- The Red Raider, complement to a friends 67 Comet called The Red Baron
1978 Mercury Zephyr- The Ranger
1967 Mustang- M'ang. the U, S, and T had fallen off one side when I got the car
1978 Cougar- Booberry (pale blue)
1987 Turbo Regal- Razor. Every time it was worked on somebody came away bleeding profusely from a small cut

Couple of friends cars:

72 Ford Custom 500- The Ghost. White car that came up silently in a heavy fog one night and scared the shit out of us
71 Grand Prix- The Spectre. Sort of trying to keep a theme here

The only car that ever mattered to me was The Slowpaz.

It was a '92 Mercury Topaz that I had a lot of fun with in highschool. Sadly, it belonged to my parents and they renegged on their promise to sell it to me cheaply because some douche mechanic told them the floor was rusting out. It totally wasn't. Agaisnt all my protestations, they had it cubed.

I still haven't forgiven them.

Many years ago, my mom owned a 1971 Ford LTD 4-door that my brother and I called "The Bus" or "The Tank" because it was so goddamn big. I mean, American cars were ENORMOUS back then.

My parent had a '69 Plymouth Fury they called "The Tank." Same reason. You could land a helicopter on that thing. I remember, one time when my parents took me to the hospital, my Dad was paged that someone had hit the car in the parking lot. He told us that the entire read fender looked crumpled (drunk driver at the hospital). Instead, the other guy's car was wrecked and The Tank had a scratched bumper sticker and a broken tail light. Which the other driver tried to argue was already broken--yeah, given the damage to his car and little pieces of taillight plastic on the ground.
