Would You Clone Yourself?

And raise your clone???

How would that turn out??? Would your clone benefit from the knowledge you have about yourself??? Would your clone be more successful than you in life???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_cloning

I am not sure it would be perfected anytime soon...but given the chance and the child would turn out healthy or as healthy as you...would you clone yourself???

If the child turned out -healthier- than me, then yes, why not?
I like myself enough and am arrogant enough to want a little me running around. I think I'm -that- special.

What exactly would the point of that be? It'd be a completely separate person, it'd just look like me. Lord knows the world doesn't need that.

Well, why not? It won't be different from raising any other child. The only difference from a biological offspring is that your clone would share your entire genetic make up instead of just half. No biggies.

Sure, I might need a new liver any day soon

Damn right I'd clone myself.

Then, when I'm old and worn out from decades of debauchery, I'd have myself killed and harvest my organs.

It'd be like having a spare tire.

I'd clone a female version of myself to be a Jane to my Adam, technically she would be my sister, but what the hell, I just wouldn't tell her.

Well, I was going to say "Hell yes, then we can give the wife a super-special evening..." then I realized you weren't talking about Hollywood-style insta-grown-ups.

No, my personal combination of genetics has not proven to be all that great. I still want to have children, though.

Oh, HELL no. I don't even like to see pictures of myself; why would I want to look at my clone?

Yes, I'd clone myself. My greatest dream in life is having a person to have intelligent conversations with. Cloning myself seems to be the only way this will ever happen.

But, is the world ready for two of me? I don't think the rest of you could handle that much perfection and beauty. it's a miracle that exposure to ONE of me hasn't caused blindness.
