Personally, I don't see the big deal. Outsourcing is as American as it comes these days.

That's ridiculous. Next thing you'll know Batman will be played by a Welsh man.

^ Bond has also been played by an Australian Llazenby), an Irishman (Brosnan) and an American (Barry Nelson in the tv version of Casino Royale & Woody Allen in the 1960s spoof).

Isn't Russell Crowe actually a New Zealander? Of course, IIRC, Errol Flynn was an Aussie.

^ Yeah, not too much of WWII was fought on US soil, as I recall!

Though a lot of Captian America stories from the Golden Age do take place on US soil with Cap fighting saboteurs and spies. Cap as a frontline, charge leading soldier in WWII is more common in stories of more recent vintage. The occasional trip to Germany to free a partisan or captured scientist/general/politcian or as victim of kidnapping did happen.

At least they can make it look authentic shooting in Europe.

I hate finding out that 1942 Poland is sound stage 6. England is perfect for dressing up as other countries.

I can't see

translating well to a live action character without some massive changes

of course he likely would be completely human in the first movie anyway so it's a moot point.

It'll translate Awesomely, because it's SO damn freaky. Another classic from the mind of Kirby.

Howard Stark, the younger, is cast for the Captain America movie.

Dominic Cooper ("Mamma Mia," "The Duchess") is set to be play a young Howard Stark, father of Tony 'Iron Man' Stark, in the 1940's-set scenes of the upcoming "The First Avenger: Captain America".

Filming should be starting up on this project in about 4-6 weeks. Can't wait for leaked photos to start emerging on this as well.

This is the third Howard Stark in as many movies. Getting a bit silly. Fair enough, the guy in IM was basically just a model, so they got in a stronger actor for IM2. Slattery was probably too old to play the character as a younger man, but could they have gotten away with make-up, hair dye or even that de-aging process used on Stewart & McKellen in X3?
