Happy Birthday, Captain

Oh, I went to Cleveland to see KM (& RD) in 2001, tho didn't know any one. But it was nice to see her, even if Endgame was a downer, cheers, GS. (And KJ lives forever, no matter what.)

Peter David may be the king of cheese but he does have some hefty laurels to rest on.

According to an okudagram shown in "The Killing Game", she was born in 2344, however, this would mean she was only 27 in 2371 when she took command of the USS Voyager. For comparison, Mulgrew was 39 when she took the role. Not having played tennis for 19 years since high school in 2373, Janeway was probably around the age of 35 when Voyager's mission began, placing her actual year of birth closer to 2336.An Okudagram biography on the video game Starship Creator Warp II states her birthdate as 2332.
Kate Mulgrew stated in an interview on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (18 May 2001) that Admiral Janeway was 76 in "Endgame". It had taken her 23 years to return to Earth and they were celebrating the ten year anniversary at the beginning of the episode, making the year 2404, which puts her year of birth in 2328.

Which makes this strapping woman either
negative 334, negative 326, negative 322 or negative 318 years old today there abouts.

Imagine if she was 27 in the pilot which is the most canonical interpretation? But they just never ever mentioned the process/accident which prematurely aged her into her late 30s?

Y'know unless she partied Reeeeeeeeeal hard in her teens at high school?

l'll Kathy was forced to give up tennis after her parents discovered she'd turned her raquet into a bong?

Or she had some form of progeria?

If kathryn had a mayfly life like Kes had a mayfly life then surely they could have identified and bonded?

But then at the rate Naomi was going she'd have one foot in the grave by the time she was 25 too.

It would also have made her age appropriate with Tom and Chakotay a dirty old man.

All this goes to prove that a reeal woman doesn't tell her real age :techman:

Even after the human life expectancy has been tripled or more by the 23rd century, that is still true.

I've been looking for fellow J-Teamers. It's been a long time since I've been able to speak with someone about the Perfect replica Voyager and She-of-the-Red-Shoulders...

You were on the J-Team?!

Sorry to bump this; I just didn't know anyone was left!

Also, I totally remembered May 20 was Janeway's birthday. I watched an episode in her honor. :techman:

Oh yes, I've been Adm_Hawthorne for years. I was Adm_Hawthorne on the J-Team, and so I am here.

I recall the days of She-of-the-Red-Shoulders, The Auburn Queen, The Grey-Eyed Goddess... I recall talking about how incredibly awe inspiring it was to to see Her wield Betsy as she walked the decks of Voyager...

Yes, I was part of the J-Team... *sigh* I miss it.

Awesome <3 I miss it, too! In those early years, us Janewayites had to band together! I actually have a little folder of graphics... they sometimes let me do stuff for their website/newsletter off and on. It was all done terribly, but man was it fun.

I recall the whole J-Team thing being a joke thread until Lisa actually went ahead and made a real website.

I even found the awful Christmas banner I made on my hard drive!

PS: I MUST protest, however - Her eyes were blue as the sky!

^ Oh man, I remember that banner! That is full of awesome memories. :D

Yes... yes... Kate claims her eyes are blue. I'll stick with grey-eyed goddess. It's much more reminiscent of Athena, the grey-eyed goddess of wisdom. I like the parallelism. ;)

No, unfortunately, it's all been taken down. I am, however, now thinking about trying to resurrect it. I think we could have some fun with it...

It being the J-Team, of course. ;)

I have a majority of the site's old navigation/banner graphics as well as some of the Holy Hair Directory images, but none of that pseudo-religious text that made everything so great. :(

Actually, I could fairly easily reproduce it. Not a word for word, but the essence of it all. That's would quite easy for me. I spent a lot of time there.

Well, that's covered then :) That writing was always the best part - that and the numerous titles everyone came up with.

Of course, someone would need to be the new Grand High Janewayite... *polishes nails*

Hah! Pulling rank? I was an Admiral here, once! (Um, maybe it was only Captain, but work with me.)

I guess the person I had in mind was the most ardently awesome, devout, and good-looking Janeway fan I know.

You wouldn't want any, um, less... knowledgeable people taking on a responsibility like that, would you?

Perhaps we can work out some sort of mutual control? After all, we're both reasonable people, and we both share a common devotion.

Perhaps you can be the Grand High Janewayite, and I can be the CinC Janewayite?

Oh, no, I was just teasing and giving you a hard time :)

If you really go to all that effort, GHJ should rightly be yours!
