Which shows would you rewatch, if you had the chance?

Which shows would you rewatch, if you had the chance and why? What are your personal requirements when it comes to a rewatching? Like, for example, does the show have to have less melodrama in order for your rewatching to be enjoyable?

With the shows I've really enjoyed over the years, I already do rewatch them. I'm working my way through my Battlestar Galactica Blu-Rays still, for instance.

For some reason I haven't rewatched a single episode of Lost. It got in to season three or four before I said to myself that I would prefer to watch it all over again from the start, which is what I'm going to do when the complete set is released on Blu-Ray.

The sort of melodrama that would put me off rewatching a show would put me off watching it in the first place.

I re-watched Lost seasons 1-5 before the current season aired, so that the story would be fresh in my mind. I am currently re-watching the series again with a friend of mine who has never seen it.

I've re-watched BSG once with a friend, and am now re-watching it again with a different friend.

I'm nearly finished re-watching DS9.

Basically, if there is a show that I really love, then I will want to re-watch it at some point. I go through phases were I might really want to watch a good episode here, a random episode there... but I think it's nice to sit down and go through the entire journey again from the beginning to the end.

Up next on my list after DS9? I'm not sure yet.

American Gothic, as I haven't see it in years and feel I was too young to appreciate the show when it aired originally.

Carnivale - I don't feel I engaged with the show properly the first time round, even though I liked what I saw. Due for a rewatch.

Homicide: Life on the Street, because every time I do watch it, I pick up on a great line or character moment I missed out on last time. I can watch these characters over and over again.

The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone, both originals, just great stories that stand up to repeated viewings. Sometimes, knowing the end twist actually enhances the experience.

We're doing the complete DVD set of TNG from start to finish, and we've seen most of these plenty of times. I'm currently looking forward to doing a BSG rewatch since I've only ever watched it first run (with a few exceptions, such as the DVD only extended cuts of certain episodes).

As for what brings me back: the easiest answer is just a good, enjoyable story. I can watch Remember Me over and over because it's so much fun, and so much like a classic Twilight Zone ep. But then last night I saw Reunion (where K'eyhler brings Alexander to Worf) and I hadn't seen it in likely over a decade. I used to dislike the Klingon politics stuff watching it the first time around, but having gotten more interested in politics with this last presidential election, this kind of thing feels just a tad deeper than it did before and I guess that's the kind of thing that would also keep me coming back.

Typically, a rewatch happens because someone wants to experience something again that they liked the first time or share it with someone who has never seen it. Sometimes, a known quantity is preferable to the unknown, especially if there has been a string of disappointments in one's recent viewing.

My girlfriend and I currently working through DEXTER from scratch, in anticipation of Season Four coming out on DVD this season.

Farscape, Dexter, Supernatural, and Neverwhere are the ones I've watched from start to finish a few times now, usually when getting someone else hooked on them.

For whatever reason i rarely rewatch TV shows.. i don't know why.

I'll watch favorite movies from time to time and sometimes so often i can speak the dialogue (Highlander for example) but once i've seen the episode i don't rewatch it.

Comedy shows however i can watch frequently for the laughs.. i still watch Mad about you, Friends, Frasier and currently Big Bang Theory regularly because they make me laugh again and again.

With drama shows.. once i have seen the plot i lose interest mostly.

If I had the chance?

All the series I want to rewatch I can rewatch any time I want, I've got them on DVD.

Now and Again - Put it on DVD, PLEASE!!!
So Weird - man, I loved that little show.
The Torklesons - ditto
Ocean Girl - I want DVDs in my region!
Second Noah

There are a number of others I'm sure. A bunch of little shows from the 90s that only had a season or so and have disappeared everywhere but my heart.

Rewatchable: DS9, Lost, Dexter and S1 of Heroes.

To rewatch a show, it has to be insanely good. I hate rewatching stuff.

Because it's usually boring. I don't understand why people do rewatch shows. Most of them aren't good enough to bother with.

I'd like to see the SciFi channel rerun Quantum Leap.

what time is it on? i LOVED that show....

-------------

there was a TV show i saw once when i was a kid (i don't remember the name of the character's name or the show's but the guy could heal himself....) i'd love to watch...

and i'd watch 'Space 1999) if it were on definitely.....

The one show I'd love to rewatch right now is NYPD Blue. I own the four seasons of DVDs Fox has released; unfortunately, they never sold very well, so the remaining eight seasons will likely never see the light of day. And currently, no U.S. cable network is airing reruns of the show. :(

I've re-watched a lot of shows, but lately I've been going through Star Trek and The X-Files.

I'm working on rewatching Buffy at the moment. I've rewatched BSG, Scrubs and Angel once.

The only Trek rewatches I've done in the traditional sense are TOS, ENT (1 each) and DS9 probably 3 times. That said, they're on in re-runs every day and I watch them a lot. So yeah, I've seen a lot of Trek.

And of course, the king of my rewatches is Lost. I've rewatched the whole show (so far as its been available) every year prior to the premiere for the last 6 years. And I don't think my Lost rewatching days are done by a long shot.

Really? I've never seen NYPD Blue and I don't really have any interest in it since from what I gather it's not really my kind of show.

But still, I do remember it being kind of a big deal amongst viewers and media when it was on. I'm surprised they wouldn't make the whole thing available.
