So who was at the church?

propita

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Jack and Kate
Sawyer and Juliet
Sayid and Shannon (I guess Nadia was not as important to him as he thought)
Claire and Charlie & Aaron
Rose and Bernard
Hurley and Libby
Locke
Boone
Christian
Ben (I hope he does join the group)

NOT present:
Michael & Walt
Miles
Frank
Richard
Daniel
Charlotte
Ana-Lucia
Eko

I still have questions about Aaron, whether the Aaron at the church was the real Aaron or just a manifestation--because the real Aaron, I'm assuming, grew up with Claire raising him.

It's probably him in the sense that everyone else is .. themselves.

Because ..., if everyone was waiting for Hurley, and ... he could have died 2000 years after everyone else, then Aaron grew up, grew old and died, too.

^, this

Everyone is who they were as Jack knew them.

Well, Jack knew Aaron as a 3yr old too.

I don't think this Aaron is necessarily "real" but is part of the group consciousness.

And did I miss anyone from the list?

Alex.

Ben is likely waiting for Alex and maybe Rousseau.

And Micheal isn't there because he is stuck on the Island and cannot move on.

YES!

I hope they're not stuck on the island, too, but I really like the idea that Ben is waiting for Alex. They were so good together in the flash-sideways.

And Micheal isn't there because he is stuck on the Island and cannot move on.

He should be able to once he comes to terms with himself, though, like Ana Lucia. Remember, Hurley saw Ana Lucia as a ghost but she was also in the flash sideways and Desmond said she's not ready yet. Hopefully her and Michael will be soon. I mean, Ben did a lot more bad things than Michael and Ben still has a chance so it wouldn't make sense for Michael to never be able to move on.

Ben may have done a lot of bad things, but consider the good things that we saw him do starting with bringing people back to the island, feeling for his sins and eventually helping out Hurley. The sky's the limit for what Ben would have done after the end of the events on-island.

What did Michael really do to redeem himself after the murders he committed?

AND while Michael probably did move on, would the other Losties really have wanted him in their afterlife group?

Okay, fine, but he was also trying to kill himself to get rid of the guilt for all of season 4. Let's be honest, he never really atoned for his sins until late this season with Hurley when he actually showed remorse that wasn't directed towards trying to lead to the end he wanted to. He said he was sorry in season 2, but that was just to get his son back and off the island. He meant it from beyond the grave in season 6.

What did Michael really do to redeem himself after the murders he committed?

He sacrificed himself on the freighter. He knew he'd die.

Except Michael told Hugo he couldn't move on because of the things he did.

Well Jack dieas on the island and meets up with people we assume died in the real world. Why would Ben who issued the orders for those murders get a pass when Micheal who was following orders does not.

If anything, Micheal got screwed by the island and Ben and wasn't able to get time for redemption. Given enough wispers in the woods, he should earn his right to move on. Perhaps Hugo can help with that as the new leader.

I don't know if was about getting a "pass" so much as how they felt about themselves and their lives.

Well, we knew Ana wasn't ready, and I think Mr. Eko already moved on. When he faced Smokey, he steadfastly proclaimed "I have NOT sinned," so I think he was truly at peace with who he was.

Michael hasn't forgiven himself. I think he always saw himself as a victim, so maybe he hasn't really forgiven himself yet. For Frank and Miles, the island WASN'T the biggest even in their lives, so they will move on in their own time. Charlotte, Daniel and his mother probably need more "time" together, eg, when Eloise asked Desmond, "Are you taking my son from me?" When their relationship is complete, they will probably all move on together.

Why would Ben who issued the orders for those murders get a pass when Micheal who was following orders does not.

Its very possible that with Hurley, Ben did a great number of good deeds and more than atoned for his sins, even though in the end, he felt he wasn't ready for the great reward. Michael, admittedly, saved the Losties, but other than that he was selfish. He did one good deed and in the end got what he wanted out of it which was ending it all to get rid of the guilt. Why should he get to move on? And again, why would the Losties want Michael in their group of afterlifers?

Perhaps Hugo can help with that as the new leader.

Well, so far, the only people alive are Hurley, Ben, Rose, and Bernard. Desmond is there, but Ben's advice is that Hurley allow him to leave.

Vincent is a dog.

It was not clearly established if any of Flocke's people survived the shelling, regardless of it being mentioned.

On the one hand, Hurley may need people (Others) there to fight off anyone who comes seeking the light. On the other hand, maybe no one will remember and come looking. There's Widmore's people, though he himself is dead, and there's Dharma, but we haven't really heard from/of them in a while.

Of course it would be ridiculous for any of these people to be there but I love making lists.

Sayid did a lot of bad things before and after he left the island but died a hero. Sawyer murdered a guy before he got to the island and you can definitely argue that his killings of Anthony Cooper and Mr. Friendly were basically executions. But he changed remarkably and unselfishly as the show went on. Kate killed a guy and got her friend killed but also changed in an unselfish way and helped destroy Smokey. Ben likely had a long time to begin to redeem himself.

Locke and Boone were the only ones there who didn't have girlfriends. They were close to each other, maybe they can get together in the afterlife. ;)

I was wondering who wasn't there as a "couple."

Boone died on the island, girlfriendless (still had the hots for Shannon though).

Locke died off island, but still alone. He and Helen never reconciled (which is why they did in his altafteruniverse)
