Lost to Continue on DVD

Turns out two and a half hours just wasn't enough screen time for Lost producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse to tell the whole story they wanted to tell us. An ABC source confirms to me that after Sunday’s series finale, titled "The End," airs from 9 – 11:30 pm ET/PT, the season six DVD (as well as the complete series collection, out on DVD and Blu-ray August 24) will continue the saga with upwards of twenty minutes of additional storyline.

So what. I can not see what 20 more minutes is gonna do for you. You already know how it ends. Maybe they show the deaths of the others when they are old. Its just a way to get people to buy the damn things.

They should have ended the series as a set of mini-series to give them enough time to wrap up

20 minutes more aint much, we already know how its gonna end

Yeah - just more hokum mumbo jumbo metaphysical bullshit.

No thanks.

This show died for me a couple of years ago - before time travelling islands, people in the 70's and "sideways" realities.

Oh and the creators lied too when asked by fans REPEATEDLY if the castaways were all dead or in limbo.

How did they lie when everything that happened on the island was real?

Maybe there will be more scenes for Libby and Penny, who had no dialog in the episode as aired.

Not true. All the island stuff was real. Only Limbo thing was the Flash Sideways universe. That was their version of the Titanic ending...

I was actually looking forward to picking the entire box set up on Blu-ray in August but after that ending I'm gonna take a pass.

20 minutes is not going to give us much more. Probably just deleted scenes anyway, like the Mobisodes.

They might be mildly interesting...but I really doubt we will get any more big reveals or anything.

I can't say that I'm 'disappointed' by the finale, although I am confused about a few things and really unclear about some stuff. A lot of it was lovely...but some of it left me with additional questions.

I'll buy the DVDs...but I don't think 20 minutes of additional footage will solve my problems. Maybe some of the special features will - if D&C explain a couple of things. But deleted scenes alone aren't going to get me sorted out.

And yet you continued to watch and post about it in an online messageboard. That's your right, of course, but it's strange.

Except for the part where they weren't dead and in limbo. Methinks someone's confused.

I look forward to an extra 20 minutes. I have a feeling some of it will be about Boone and Hurley. I mean, where the hell did Boone come from anyway? He just randomly showed up to set up the meeting between Sayid and Shannon. I can't help thinking, with the random appearances he's had since he died, that Boone was one of the more important characters behind-the-scenes.

I don't think this is going to be deleted scenes, per se. Those familiar with the faux-documentaries on the season 4 and 5 sets probably get what I mean. That's not to say it'll be a documentary, but it's probably not going to come in the form of "stuff we didn't see" from our principal cast.

The big hint is that it's in production now. Things wrapped in Hawaii last month.

I'm less interested in extra footage than I am in the finale commentary track.

I'd be amazed if we got one. They've only done one finale commentary (There's No Place Like Home, Part 2) and I was shocked we got that.

They've gone out of their way to say that they're not going to comment on the finale for awhile and I don't think 3 months qualifies as awhile. I'd love to be wrong though. That'd be the first thing I watched after peeling the cellophane of my Season 6 set.

On the bright side, we're definitely getting a commentary on "Across The Sea" so that'll be a decent insight into what's going on with the island as they see it.
