You shouldn't be so disbelieving. That was a great choice for an avatar, a character briefly seen but who plays such a vital role overall... by committing the ultimate act of sacrifice for her child.

Yeah, but there was Bambi's mom, Mom from Futurama, Sarah Connor (which was my first choice until I discovered someone else used not just the character but The Same Image!) Mommy Kirk, the Horta (that was brilliant! BTW).

My thread, my rules. I say they are both fantasy, at least for the purpose of this thread. That's why they are in the poll.

Well, the Halloween episodes definitely are SF/fantasy.

Come to think of it, a town where children remain the same age for years and years? Fantasy!

Of all the Si-Fi/Fantasy films I have ever seen, the one entitled, "Bambi", that featured sentient, talking Cervids was perhaps the most bizarre! I have never known any member of the Family Cervidae to exhibit this type of ability: at least not in my region. Those I have observed, spent much of their time scent marking themselves with their own waste, and committing "unwelcome acts" on the females of their species, when not viciously attacking each other in territorial disputes (both sexes). And the ones that I studied, locally, would be more likely to eat small animals, than to communicate with them (there are videos documenting this behavior). Not one, single, individual, seemed to have a conscience approaching, let alone surpassing, a human's. Though, things may be very different in other parts of the universe, i.e. Hollywood, CA?
Even young children in the audience were crying! It was potentially, a very disturbing movie!
I voted for it's avatar as fantasy: though, a movie about actual deer would fall more into the horror genera.
