Having solved that pesky debt crisis, the housing crisis, high unemployment, the continuining border problem, and recession, Democrats are now moving on to the real problem plaguing our troubled nation: lack of toilets in women's restrooms -- with a bill!

May be the first overwhelmingly bi-partisn bill in a decade though. :p

Seriously though, women bathrooms have needed more toilets. Heck, so do some guys -- ever tried to use a Wal-Mart bathroom during a holiday, or the busy time of a workday? There's never enough fuckign toilets!

But we need more than more toilets -- we need proper fucking ventilation. The smell ... the smell -- it can cause nightmares.

And ones with functioning locks and abundant loo roll would be a real bonus :)
Also, whilst we're on the subject, can we have music too ~ I hate to hear toilet sounds *fingers in ear smilie*

Amen! In fact, I'll just settle for functioning locks, as I always carry tissues in my purse. And there should be staff/security to keep people from smearing poo on the walls. Ugh.

I am generally happy with the amount of toilets. However i rarely go to the city centre where I don't think there are enough.

My main peeve about toilets is that I hate automatic hand dryers. I would prefer paper towelling.

Man, that reminds me of a local park that has an stall toilet. Someone smearned poop on the door, and the guy who comes and does a shitty job of cleaning the bathroom (sometimes not doing it, jusut putting toilet paper in), NEVER cleaned it up. Because the distance from the door to your ass is so short (none existant if you are fat), it slowly went away everyday from people rubbing their pants on it. Each day you could see it smeared a little more. I need to find out who is contracted out as the cleaning company, and bitch something fearsome.

Jesus H Christ. Please tell me where in the constitution congress can even be thinking about this? How in the hell would this fall under the interstate commerce clause? Yet another example of a shredded 10th amendment.

Oh and most states have already established their own "potty parity" laws. In fact under the AIA (American Institute of Architects) guidelines "potty parity" is mandated. So if you design a new building you are supposed to at the least make sure that there are an equal number of toilets in the women's rest rooms as there are toilets and urinals in the mens bathroom.

Pretty much everywhere I go bathroom space is split 50/50 between the men and women's rooms.

I really do think it should be split 70/30 everywhere. Absolutely. I don't really don't see how you can defend anything else other than to say "that's how we've always done it."

And that's not really a reason.

To be fair, I think there should be no even split like that, rather a sensible "as needed" approach. Maybe a rule of thumb like: "Take the normal amount planned, and add three more to the ladies, and two more to the men's".

Also to be fair, for what I said, I'm thinking of places that get constant crowds. Places like airports, movie theaters, and malls.

If you have a small restaurant and you have 2 bathrooms with 2 toilets each...well I'm not out to rock your world.

I'm referring to the kinds of places with 15 toilets each and there's constantly a women's line while men don't have to wait at all. That's the kind of thing I'm really talking about.

I actually thought about this earlier today because I was at the airport and there WAS a line in the men's room. And by "line" I mean I had to wait 25 seconds (literally) but the guy in front of me said "phshhh...a line??" and walked out.

When I see that women will wait 10 minutes but a man can't even wait 25 seconds, that's when I realized that my gender has been a bit spoiled.

I'd like to see a few more women's rooms around. I find myself spending too much time waiting for them because they have to wait.

People smearing poo on the walls and doors? Jesus Christ, where do you folks live? In the monkey house at the zoo?

Just go in the male's bathroom, I have told women that all the time. If there is a line and no guys in the male's bathroom I just tell them to use it.

Maybe we should pass a bill that says women can't spend 10 minutes in the bathroom. That would help.

Hasn't your Congress got anything better to do ?

I did that in a theatre in Brighton when we had 2 mins to sit down and the queue in the ladies was too long. I did knock and peer in but the only guy left in there was not amused. Got to my seat in time though
