Any under 30 TOS fans?

It would be fun to know if some were introduced to Star Trek through Abrams' movie then discovered the original and found TOS better.

I brought my son to the movie and he was not impressed. He said that he has seen so many movies like that, action. explosions, sword fights, space battles that he had no interest in yet another one. He is 15 and probably has seen lots of NuTrek types.

I forced him to watch an episode of TOS on Blu-Ray. Didn't have to force him to watch the second. Now he really likes TOS. Looks like he is going to be a Kirk man though whereas mom is a Spock woman. Another son has expressed a tiny bit of interest in possibly seeing TOS. Said he heard the old ones were much more cerebral.

IMO things that make you think last the longest.

why doesn't your son like Nutrek?

Nothing special or memorable for him. Too typical, predictable, and interchangeable with other movies in terms of story, characters, special effects, action sequences, humor etc.

At 15, think of the movies he probably has seem in the last 5 tears. TOS was like most of them and he is bored of that.

Are there any under 30 TOS fans around here? And do they like TOS for more than because they think it's cheesy and/or campy?

And are there any for which TOS is their favourite Trek?

If so then please speak up and tell us why.
I turned 26 in April, and I love "Star Trek" (TOS) very much, mainly because of the characters and the legendary cast.

Seeing Shat, Nimoy, Kelley and the gang in action is always a joy.

Odd, I loved NuTrek.

I mean, to me it was way more then just a movie. It was the rebirth of the franchise, and the best thing about it was the cast, they played there characters very well.

I felt that we haven't gotten a chance to see if these new actors can play those parts yet because their characters were not written to resemble their TOS counterparts. I would have loved to see their interpretation of those characters but the script did not allow for it.

I watched The Deadly Years and Friday's Child today those are great

We watched Miri a few days ago. I haven't seen that episode since I was a teen. In those days I had such a crush on Spock that I didn't notice other things. Miri had an interesting premise that I never noticed before. It is very enjoyable to see new things in TOS.

I agree, but it looks like the cast is more then capable.

I am approximately 19.76 years of age. :vulcan:

Excellent acting, great stories, powerful moments. In short, decades ahead of its time.

Which is why I LOVED the Remastered TOS.
