If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve ?

If you had Sherlock Holmes' super brilliant detective sleuthing abilities, what creatively witty (serious or humorous) mystery or mysteries would you most like to solve and please say why, for anything mentioned. It can be from either fiction (books, scifi, movies, TV, etc.),
the real world, or both.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

The Scandal in Bohemia.

Just to show Irene Adler who's boss.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

JFK'd be good. Hoffa, I guess.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

Where's the final resting place of the Naronic? I bet even Holmes wouldn't be able to pinpoint her location. Other than that I guess I want to know who Future Guy was. ;)

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

Why did Post change the recipe of Raisin Bran in the early to mid 90's?!

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

The search for the Holy Grail. I'd bet he'd be good at that.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

Since this is more action/adventure/thriller, it's off to TVM

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

The eternal riddle of why hot dogs come in packages of ten, but hot dog buns only come in packages of eight.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

The identity of Jack the Ripper.

Bonus points if it turns out to be just some guy that no one has ever heard of.

Re: If you were Sherlock Holmes',what mystery would you want to solve

Maybe he could find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie pop. He could also find Carmen SanDiego.

There's a very good book that actually goes in-depth about this. It's called "Sherlock Holmes: The Unauthorized Biography", written as if he were a real person. In it, it's proposed that when the killings catch his attention and get out of hand, the Queen hires him via Mycroft who has connections to Royalty by working in Whitehall.

There was actually a novel on this theme many, many years ago. I think it was called SHERLOCK HOLMES IN DALLAS.

As I recall, it wasn't very good, being mostly a soapbox for the author to expound his pet conspiracy theories using Holmes as a mouthpiece . . . . .

And, btw, I am deeply honored to have rated a mention in your sig! :)

Greg Cox: "In reality, it was two hours of sullen people not talking in a cramped railway station, with occasional bouts of joyless sex."

What does this reference? If you say it was your honeymoon I'm gonna smack ya. :)

It was a description of an unusually tedious foreign film I saw years ago . . . .

Alas, I can no longer remember the title. Perhaps Holmes can solve:

"The Strange Case of the Endless Art Film."
