Sisko and Jadzia

Kathryn-janeway

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Did sisko have feelings for jadzia ? Because he slept with mirror dax in Through the looking glass, or did he do it just to cover up so he wouldnt blow his cover?

I don't think Sisko felt 'that way' about Jadzia and the sex with Mirror Dax was totally just a ploy to hide his true identity. Think back to how uncomfortable he was with her hitting on him in "Fascination". I imagine that sex with the mirror Dax was awkward for Sisko, although I also think he probably enjoyed it at least a little bit on some level .

I believe that the writers were trying to imply that there was some kind of romantic connection between Jadiza and Ben but they both never explored this path. It has been a while since I've watched the first season but I swear I remember an episode that touches on this. As for the Mirror Dax yes it was most likely to reinforce his cover.

^

'Dax' had Bashir bein' jealous about Sisko & Jadzia havin' dinner together, and she told him to be more mature about it.

Quark suspected the same sort of thing, which goes to show how much he knows.

I don't think Sisko had romantic feelings about Jadzia simply because she was Dax. If your old fart of a mentor were suddenly in the body of a beautiful woman, would you be able to get it up? If so, just how kinky are you?

Also, in 'Through the Looking Glass', if ya notice, he only refers to Mirror Jadzia as Dax once - and she throws a sharp WTF?! look his way. Its possible that she didn't have the symbiont. Considerin' Mirror Ezri definately didn't have it in the final season...Sisko may have had sex with just Jadzia, not Jadzia Dax.

^ That look was because Sisko told her to put her weapon away, which seems to be out of the ordinary for mirror Ben Sisko. Also Jennifer called her Dax at least once during the episode.

It was oddly enough in the novelization for Emissary where it was mentioned that Jadzia did find Sisko attractive, but the Dax symbiont was neutral and more concerned that Jadzia Dax didn't become a maneater.

Novelizations for televised episodes are usually commissioned to come out not too long after the actual episodes air (sometimes in only a matter of weeks), so I can't help but wonder if the authors draw upon both the finished shooting script and the writer's bible or some notes from the producers...

Probably...At least, I've heard comments from authors that did novelizations that implied that they were given the materials necessary to get the job done. I know I'd demand it if I took a job like that. No use going into it blind, y'know?
