What will be the last sport to go co-ed?

Exactly. I even think any professional club's youth team of 15-year-old boys would beat even the best professional women's team. Not because they play better, but because they are stronger.

You have to get out more! It's not strength but skill and endurance that's needed for soccer.
The best men will beat the best women, but you're terribly misinformed if you think 15 year-old boys would beat a professional women's team.

In the same mini-tournament in which the game I mentioned above was held (they played 30 minutes, not 45 minutes by the way), the same Bundesliga women team played against a selection of U18 players (players younger than 18) from the town of cologne and the women lost to them with 5:0.

It's not just endurance (which women are significantly worse at than men also btw). What's glaring at women's soccer for example is that they just can't shoot the ball as hard and their goalkeepers are terrible and they can't tackle and everything is kind of slower. Size does matter in soccer. Yes, it's a sport where players like Messi can succeed but that's exceptional. Strength - pure muscle mass - helps in a variety of ways - winning 50/50 balls, shielding the ball and avoiding fouls for example. You can't win any headers if you're not tall and/or strong enough. And these aspects of the game have become much more important in recent years, the future of the sport is in more athleticism.

Of course skill matters also, and women can be just as good as men at that, but that's not enough. Women's soccer is almost a different sport than men's soccer. I think it's not a fair comparison.

Yep. This is why there haven't been any major calls to integrate most of the sports mentioned in this thread. For the most part both men and women realize it's not really such a great idea.

If you watched any of the Olympic hockey you noticed a huge difference between the mens and womens games. Speed, strength, endurance. Just a huge difference. Even if they were physically even what pro team would take the mental hit that they have a woman on the team? How badly would the fan base be enraged over having a "weaker" player on the field?
The best female bowler in the world right now would be 11th on the mens list.
The best female dart player in the world is ranked 99th on the combined list.
The best female chess player in the world would be ranked 50th on the mens list.
I list these to show that even in sports where endurance, strength and speed are not at the top of the list, there is still a statistical difference between men and women.

I actually forgot about this thread.... lol

Your numbers are actually kind of shocking, Icemizer. And does kind of invalidate many of my arguments. Where are you getting those numbers from, just so I can research more?

Spin? Fast? Medium-paced? Slow-paced? Left arm orthodox? Left arm over the wicket?

The women play a "cleaner" game?

The field hockey is the ONLY Summer Olympic sport I watch.

Go the Hockeyroos!!!!
Go the Kookaburras!!!

I honestly don't think any of those sports will integrate. The ones with the closest chance are baseball and basketball but even then, those sports do rely on a large amount of strength and stamina. For the most part, your average male is going to be bigger and stronger than your average female.
The only stamina needed for baseball is enough to stay awake during the whole boring event.

You, sir, are in error. Baseball is the single greatest athletic event devised by man.

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:No sir that would be NFL Football. You know, the sport where they don't wimp out because it's raining.

You mean the sport where they stop ever 2 seconds and have half hour "instant" replay breaks? yeah I've heard of it :p:p:p

I really wouldn't talk about the NFL and not wimping out in here. The Europeans will hear you and they'll all come in here ranting about how the NFL is just rugby for wusses. :shifty:

You left out the bit about the players wearing body armour. :shifty:
