The Death of Captain Robau

Yes, yes the the question indeed was in regard to the "subtle" part.

Nero was a raving emo manic and in case the audience missed this fact Elder Spock points out for us that he was "troubled". Not unlike a certain eugenic overlord we once met, at least their pain stems from similar motivations, dead wives and all.

lol. Yes, I know. The question was silly, so I responded with more sarcasm in the hope that you would catch on (and then again to the other poster's comment) but I'm not in a jovial enough mood today to keep it up.

Obviously, my remark that Nero's insanity might be overlooked by the audience due to its subtlety was not meant in earnest. I find it hard to believe that anyone could think that it was.

Many people missed this detail because it was pretty subtle... but Nero was crazy.

Sarcasm right? Spock Prime himself remarks that Nero was a "troubled Romulan".

That was just SpockPrime's penchant for understated humor. As in substituting "troubled" for "bat-shit looney".

lol

Kirk: "Pike was captured."

SpockPrime: "By Nero."

Kirk: "What do you know about him?"

SpockPrime: "Nero put the 'crazy' in crazy motherfucker."

I think he was just total intergalactic awesomeness that just blew me out the chair at how:cool: he was.

I think they should make Star Trek TV spin-off about Captain Robau and the voyages of the U.S.S. Kelvin (NCC-0514) before its demise.

I keep hearing we're going to get at least one Pocket Books novel about Robau, George Kirk and the Kelvin if nothing else. Dunno though.

We are? cool. I really hope they make a backstory book for Robau, the Kelvin, and the Kirk family.
