They broke the classic 'if you are lost rule'. Stay put. Wait for rescue to come to you.

I'm giving this one an "excellent" or a "10". This was Stargate at it's core. I don't think the franchise has ever done a story where the characters had to use the gate system to find a way home. Before SG-1 started, I imagined that this is what a Stargate series would look like. We even got some exotic locales and a monster along the way. Anyone who gave up on the show should see this episode. The ending was good too. I would have been happy if they made it back to Destiny in the nick of time, but not having them go that route now has me wondering what'll happen next. They'll get back, but with Destiny leaving the galaxy, how?

So I guess everyone who was saying they would be back on the ship by the next episode got a surprise?

Good episode. Nice to see some of Greer's back story. Now I guess we know why he comes off as a bit of a jerk.

So Destiny is about to leave the galaxy. Wonder what this will mean for the crew?

We saw a lot of stargate use this episode, maybe this will pacify some of the people who wanted more exploration. Brief as it was. Cool to see a little more of the wrecked alien ship. This surprised me, I figured we would never see any reference to that again.

The big creature was cool, kind of Rancor-esque I thought.

Looks like we will be getting some action next episode, I think that will make some people happy!

Yeah, they didn't pull a Rush and hit the reset button after one episode but all that means is that they'll be back later on.

At this point though, I figure they'll either hook up with the two missing dudes from the first episode or the civilians that ditched the ship a couple of weeks ago.

There was no stargate on the obelisk planet.

Perhaps they will try to go back to the planet with the wrecked ship and ramp up the power use on that ship. The Aliens that took Rush will take notice will grab the 3 hoping to find out more on Destiny.

Kind of a long shot since who would think of getting captured and sucking the secrets of the ship from Eli would be a good thing. Plus Cloe would REALLY not want to be captured again.

Seeing as the previews talk about enemy ship(s)...maybe it's the trio, catching up? That or they join the fray and ambush the aliens during the battle. How they find Destiny, I've no idea.

I'm assuming they DO get back sometime, somehow.

And is Young going for the mussed look with his hair?

Yeah, you'd think Scott would know better. Even with their limited knowledge of where Destiny would stop, you would want to leave it to the larger group with more resources to do the searching.

Setting that aside, I really loved the rest of the ep, most notably Greer's flashbacks. Oh, and the Rancor's cousin.

That's probably as good as this show gets. There wasn't anything terribly stupid here. The pregnancy stuff isn't that interesting, but I guess this is what happens when you hire a chick for a sci-fi action type show and she decides to get knocked up! Well, either that or the sensible thing of just killing her off since nobody is that invested in her after a couple of episodes.

I thought Planet Vermont was ripe for an Eli Narnia joke, but they didn't go there.

And Lt. Juggs, and her I'm not one to sleep with random dudes schtick... come on girl, you ARE one to do it because YOU DID IT!

I'll say 8/10-ish.

I rather liked this episode, felt like a Stargate episode, the gates were a prominent feature, and I liked that. We learned more stuff, and it was entertaining, I also did not expect them to get left AGAIN at the end, there were some very nice twists in this episode, all around, good job guys.

Faint praise.

9/10 for me, very good. I did not expect them to stay lost at the end... I wonder how they will get them back now.

Some nice alien planets and lots of gate travel... That's certainly not a bad thing.

The backstory on Greer was handled pretty well. I liked the scene with his dad at the fire by the stargate.

one of the highlights of SGU so far is seeing much more varied landscapes and worlds via the stargates, including creatures! Good to see that continue here.

I also think the serialized storyline also gives SGU a narrative edge the other series lacked.

Well, I like how they're staying true to the premise of this show, as well as the ones that came before. It stands to reason that, without humans having been seeded to these galaxies, the planets would be more varied-looking, and more dangerous.
