What silly thing did you once believe in?

- That they made a Back to the Future, Part IV where they travelled back in time to see dinosaurs, but you could only find it at one video store in California. (When I was a kid, California seemed like some sort of magical other-realm.)

There was actually a Back to the Future The Ride in which they traveled back to the dinosaurs. I wouldn't be surprised if some video store had the (relatively brief) material on bootleg video somewhere.

Or, if you're a kid and see a part of that ride on TV somewhere, you later think you saw the movie or got confused and thought they'd at least made the movie.

I had a buddy when I was 10 that swore he saw The Empire Strikes Back on TV in 1980. I told him it must've been a making of or maybe hew was remembering the Holiday Special.

Actually, there are various mechanisms that influence Evolution; the only real issue is which one is ascendant in a specific circumstance.
Agaion, evolution is a fact. The "theory" of evolution refers to how it specifically happened; this model changes each time we get new information. But nothin has come out that refutes the dea of evolution.

That I saw somebody playing Galaga and get a 'triple' ship. (You actually could only do that in Galaga '88, not the original Galaga)

Making sure every single part of my body was under the covers would completely protect me from monsters, ghosts or whatever unnamed evil thing was wandering around my house late at night.

Yeah, I had that one too. However, I had to make a secret hole that the monsters couldn't find in the covers so I could get fresh air.

Oh, that explains that! I thought the same thing and didn't know that was only available in a particular release.

Also: I once swore that in B5: In the Beginning, we saw all five Babylon stations being built (1 red, 2 orange, 3 yellow, 4 green, 5 blue). But apparently B2 and B3 were never in that montage. So I must have dreamed this.

I have the same memory. I'm afraid we've been transported into an alternate reality in which that's the only thing that is different...there's really no other explanation. :shifty:

^ I definitely remember JMS once saying that the five Babylon stations were arranged, color-wise, in the same order as the colors of the rainbow.

I once believed that being nice and respectable towards other people that they would respond in kind.

Ha.

Uh... thanks. What? :rommie:

Did you mean to Quote somebody else?

Oh, I do remember sneaking a bit of fresh air, too, but only for a second and it meant taking a big chance. Funny how those 'Rules of Engagement' kept me feeling safe.

Did you ever read Robert Sheckley's Ghost V? I love his stories. That one in particular is a favorite.

^ Oh god... I still believe that. If I stopped I wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning.

It doesn't always work. It used to annoy the hell out of me, until I discovered that a smartass comeback makes things better.

For me anyway.

You just have to fan the spark, and hope it is strong enough to get you through the day. Sometimes I find that the spark is almost nothing but smoke, other times it's a conflagration, but it's worth protecting. Each day really is a new day.

One of my older brothers told me when I was 3 that I'd disappear down the bathtub plughole with the water if I didn't get out of the tub before mom pulled the plug. This freaked me out for a number of years, much to bro's amusement.

When I was 5 years old my aunt took me to see The Godfather when it first came out and after the movie I thought the mafia was going to hunt me down and kill me. My mother tried to explain I wasnt even on the mafia's radar, but all I knew at the time was I was a marked little kid who was soon going to be sleeping with the fishes.
