Heh - don't tell me, you've been bitten by the completist bug as well...
It's getting pretty bad, actually - if I had the money, I'd be tempted to go for the Lifetime sub. I fear this may be getting out of hand!
This is why I'm glad I got the lifetime sub before launch when it was cheaper.
Yes, the latest patch took long to download.
thought that was my pc wonder why it took so long? still least now I can get stuck into the game again
How long, on average, do these various patches/updates take to download, and how many have there been so far?
I'm kind of dreading having to wade through a backlog of the darn things when I get everything up and running - so much so, in fact, that I'm tempted to just get into the game, and then slowly update every so often, when I've got time. Call me impatient, but I'd rather get on with the game first, then bring it up to scratch later when the initial rose-tinted novelty starts to wear off...

When I installed the game last week it automatically started a patch that took about an hour to download and install.
The patching system they have is more 'intelligent' tthen most other MMOs. It scans your individual HOGG files (the game data files); and determines and downloads just the changes neede to get upi patched to the latest client version. The client inself totals about 10 GB in size; and the initial client install was about 7 GB, so that's about 3 GB worth of data added to date. But, you won't be downloading multiple patches to 'get current' it'll comile it's own manifest of just what needs to be patched and download the data.

If the patch was up on Friday, then it downloaded pretty fast for me. Only took a few minutes.
Almost a Captain. I suppose my Golfball should be traded up for an Intrepid variant?

when i made captain, i buoght a defiant, shields were too weak, then i bought a galxy, too slow,,,then i bought an Intrepid. ship kicks all forms of ass!
Basicallt the guys who made the Intrepid for STO paide attention to Voyager.

I've gone up against Jem'Hadar battleships and wasted them. They killed me in seconds aboard a Defiant.

That's what I thought when I tried it out, but to my surprise it worked. I don't have a high end graphics card, just the basic card that came with my computer. The graphics aren't as nice as the images shown in the Screenshots thread, but I can still play the game.
