And those Avatar ads were annoying, popping up and covering the truly important posts I was reading. But if they covered Rack's posts, I might not mind it as much.

It certainly was a bit jarring when it first appeared, but I pretty quickly got used to just ignoring it.

I gather from the comments here that it's some kind of advertisement. If so, at least in my case it's a dismal failure, since even at this late date I have absolutely no idea what it's advertising.

Honestly, I never see any of the ads in here anymore. (Even the pop-up ads, I never take the time to actually read them.) Back when they were subtle and unobtrusive, one would occasionally catch my eye, but now they all just get lost in the general cacophony.

Why is that surprising? It's $10 a year, and a lot of people have been here for many years, and find the community worthwhile enough to fork a little cash over in order to keep it running (and to not see ads, of course.)
