Noah's ark found

A few weeks ago there was a misc. thread about what the discovery of Noah's ark would mean.

Well...

A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers say they have found wooden remains on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.

They claim carbon dating proves the relics are 4,800 years old — around the same time the ark was said to be afloat.

He says it's 99.9% certain that it's Noah's ark.

I think it is pretty much a given that Noah's Ark happened, what people disagree on is the severity of the flooding, how big the boat was, and how many animals were actually on it. I believe Gods word on subject, others do not. Anyway, I don't need scientists to find for me, I believe it happened just as the Bible describes it. If the finding of it helps others to Christ, then that is great.

One question. Now that apparently evangelicals think radiometric dating is a good and reliable tool when it tells them that some wood is 4800 years old will they believe it when radiometric dating tells them that objects are older then 6000 years old?

At this point they can keep discovering the wooden shacks left by previous 'successful' expeditions.

Truth. I remember when 'Noah's ark' was found on Mount Ararat in the 80s.

-- Depends. Global-- maybe, but a massive regional flood that would have made a primitive culture think that God was washing away the world, most likely.

-- Most likely. A ship-wright, carpenter, community leader that had the resources and knowledge to construct an "ark"

-- Most likely. But unless Noah was from Gallifrey, the biblical account (no pun intended) doesn't hold water. My thoughts, it was merely a freighter or other larger than average boat created or put use to save some livestock and families from Noah's village.

Was God's hand in it in anyway?
-- Who's to say 100% yes or no. But something miraculous or a step above the norm in a primitive culture would appear to be divine in nature. Doesn't prove the existence of God one way or the other.
