So what are you reading now? (Part 3)

My friend back in high school Teddy used to have a great time saying "Man, people keep telling me I have issues. They're wrong; I don't have issues, I have PROBLEMS." It was kind of a running joke.

On an entirely unrelated note, I'm currently about a third of the way through Lost Era: Well Of Souls...

Good lord this book is depressing. Is the second half at least slightly uplifting in some way for someone? I mean, it's compelling as hell, I'm definitely glad I'm reading it. I'm just not sure that "enjoying" it would be the right way to describe it.

A few characters have reasonably pleasant conclusions to their story arcs. At least relatively .

For what it's worth, and slightly randomly, I lent "Well of Souls" to my English teacher- who isn't a Trek fan- a few years ago. She loved it, so there we are. I was pleased to see Trek novels could appeal to non-fans, too.

That duology absolutely unequivocally kicks ass. Very David Mack-like, really, but on a bit of a larger scale. (Oh, and btw, your sig has a typo now, you might want to fix that.)

Just finished rereading "To Your Scattered Bodies Go" (Thank you SyFy ;) ) before that I read "Dragon Harper". Currently I'm rereading "Riverworld and Other Tales" because I can't find my copy of "The Fabulous Riverboat" And I've been reading and rereading my own book ( see sig :) ) for last minute corrections.

I think this is the third book I've read this year with a Dyson Sphere.

And thanks... that was a big Copy and Paste fail.

congrats on the book sale..
:)

as for riverworld..
loved the first books but then it soo with the last.

I finished TNG: Strike Zone. It was readable but insubstantial. The characterizations were all OTT. A "weird shit for no real reason" ending. Not a patch on Peter David's later Trek stuff. Unless I'm misremembering :)

Went Old School for a bit. Just finished First Frontier ( TOS vs dinosaurs), and now am reading Ice Trap. I grab for the old books every now and then when i'm stuck without anything in the schedule to read. Read many of the old TOS books to the point they had to be replaced...
