Blood oath.

Kathryn-janeway

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
i watched this episode yesterday, and i found it quite enjoyable to be honest, i loved that the episode was centered around jadzia. I was jsut wondering does sisko have a go at her later on for disobeying starfleet orders or dose it just get dismissed?

Its prolly in her perm record of her actions, but Sisko's attitude is always......Its a Dax, expect the good and be prepared for some impromptu craziness. Once a Dax has their minds set on something, they're gonna do it come heck or high water.

When, Ezri stole a runabout against orders, to look for Worf-she disobeyed Sisko and he just shrugged it off as being a Dax

There is a very long history of Star Fleet officers totally disobeying rules and getting off scot-free for it. If Worf can sneak off and murder a potential head of state I think pretty much anything goes in Star Fleet.

Nice Avata.....er...uh

But.. Worf killed Duras for reasons which were entirely acceptable according to that state's laws. So he gets a Starfleet reprimand, but the Klingon empire has no [formal] grumble.

I've been making a lot of negative posts lately, so it's nice to have a chance to talk about something I love. I really love this episode. It took me awhile to get into DS9. It wasn't until seasons 3 and 4 that there were a lot of episodes I really loved.

There are only a handful in seasons 1 and 2 that I like to re-watch, and this is by far my favourite of season 2. I am biased because of how much I loved Jadzia Dax and the Klingon characters (and the episodes of "Star Trek" that they appeared in), but I also think this is wonderfully written. Like most of my favourite Star Trek episodes, it has both lovely character interaction and very fun action sequences combining to make a consistently entertaining and simultaneously intellectually/emotionally satisfying episode overall.

Jadzia's actions not getting a lot of consequences later on is a fairly big plot hole/loose end, but I don't mind. Given how much affection I have for the character, it's easy for me to understand why Sisko would cut her miles of slack and let her get away with a lot. :p

I take it your a jadzia fan? :) I count my self as one, i thinks she ace and i think terry does a wonderful job . Could you recommend any good episode which jadzia is the main character?
I just ordered season 3. iv got season 1 and 2 and i love the episodes if wishes were horses, dax, blood oath, go along home and the other one were she tutors the young trill and others :D :D. I also like the bond she has between sisko, julian and kira and others ect.. Hope you can help me Thanks :)

Yup, huge Jadzia fan here. She's my favourite Star Trek character, so I also tend to favour episodes where she's the main character. Some of the ones I like most besides "Dax" and "Blood Oath" are:

(1) "You Are Cordially Invited..." (Season 6) - Where she gets married.

(2) "Re-Joined", "Facets", and "Equilibrium" (Season 3) - About past hosts of the Dax symbiont and how Jadzia deals with issues related to them.

and

(3) "Change of Heart" (Season 6) - About Jadzia and Worf.

She's not the main character in "Trials and Tribble-ations" (Season 5) and "To the Death" (Season 4), but she has many great lines and scenes in those episodes, so that in my opinion she really 'stole the show' in both. By the way, Jadzia is the main character in season 3's "Meridian", but it is a HORRIBLE episode! She acts really stupid in that episode, which is really weird, disappointing, and upsetting given how smart she usually is, so as a Jadzia fan, I'd recommend skipping that one!

Blood Oath was great, I love the look on Koloth's face when she tells the holosuite to give her a bat'leth and proceeds to hold her own against him.

Thanks too much fun, im sure they will be good episodes. And i Think this is the best episode iv seen so far regarding her character.. :)

That is certainly one of my all time favourite episodes. We have a copy of the script autographed by the entire cast.

It's a great episode and I'm a Jadzia fan too. I always thought of it as a case where Sisko could do nothing about it. She was on leave and this was a personal matter. She wasn't representing starfleet. In the huge federation with so many cultures they can't expect everyone to act the same.I'm sure some humans would do the same.
Worfs case was different as it happened on a Federation ship when duras probably had diplomatic protection.
Sisko may have been able to put a mark on her record but I doubt he would have wanted too. He understood what she was doing and his only real protests were a way to protect her.

ugh. this is one of the things that really turns me off about the Jadzia character. the same type thing occurs in WotW when she takes out 3 Klingons in Ops.

I just can't suspend my belief that far.

hey fellow jadzia fans
i my self am a devoted fan of jadzia, i dont know what it is about her that we like so much. my earlyist memory of her was Season two episode "invasive prosedures". i was hooked ever since. ( my hamster is called Dax as he has spots running down his back, they look like Trill spots)

My fave episodes of jadzia are "Blood Oath", " you are invited....", " Euilibrium" " Facets"," Change of heart", "Dax" and "Re-joined"

Jadzia quite Dr Who like. old and wise. Because of this sheknows to have fun and live life to the full taking chances. People who say she doesn't act her age miss the point. If you look at older people in our society most of their regrets are about what they didnt do rater than what they did do. IfTrills got more serious as they got older they would all be distrustful hermits living in some caves.

 You don't like the fact that she's tougher than most Klingons? That's what I like the most about her!

^umm, like I said, I just can't suspend my belief that far. there's never been anything to suggest that Trill possess that kind of strength and stuff. from what's been shown on screen, the Trill seem to be kinda docile. havin' Jadzia beat up on Klingons was like, completely unbelievable. it seems the writers tried to make her into Wonder Woman or something, and it umm, just didn't work for me.

I'm glad you liked it, 'cause I sure didn't.
