Star Trek TOS remastered UK box sets info?

Just order the three Star Trek Original Series remastered box sets here in the UK.

Season 3 turned up yesterday in a steel sleeve.
Season 1 turned up today in a cardboard sleeve.
Season 2 is still on its way.

I'm not so anally retentive about these things that I can't cope with different packaging but I just wondered which was the current packaging and whether it (or the disc contents) had changed recently?

There was no mention of any steel sleeves on websites like Amazon or Zavvi, and the photos just just like ordinary plastic snapper cases in cardboard sleeves.

Thanks in advance for any info.

The first three season sets were regular DVD, no CGI enhancements, in yellow, blue and red plastic canisters.

Assuming the Region 2 (UK) releases were similar to here (Region 4, Australasia), the Season One remastered CGI HD/DVD hybrid came in the transparent container (and yellow endcaps), but then the HD market collapsed before the blue and red ones were due for release.

So then came the three remastered CGI sets in their new metal containers. Followed by the restocked sets in cardboard as the first batches sold out. Here in Oz, Season Three in its tin was a JB HiFi exclusive.

Ah, thanks for that comprehensive answer!

When S2 arrived, it was cardboard like S1 so I guess the S3 tin was old stock.

The remastered picture quality is excellent - they certainly knew how to film stuff properly forty years ago.
