It seems like it's fallen into the morass of the agency pricing changeover.
You can get Unspoken Truth from Amazon for $6.99 in AZW. You can also get it from B&N for $6.99 in eReader. You can get it in ePub from S&S for $6.99. All the Star Trek eBooks seem to have vanished from Sony.
I just want someone to give us the answer to what sort of stupid games these publishers are playing with eBooks.

If I can throw my two cents in, I hate paying the same amount for digital media when the physical copy is the same price or cheaper.
I usually use fictionwise.com and booksonboard.com to purchase my ebooks. I searched both sites today for "star trek" for the first time since February and FW only had 2 old titles and BOB had 16 old titles.
The problem is the new agency model. It's causing most eBook stores to not have content from S&S.
It blows cause BN still has ebooks but since I'm outside the US/Canada, they won't let me buy. The others had no such restriction.
S&S has Missing In Action listed for $22.95 for the trade paperback. They do not have the mass market edition listed. That is why the eBook price is so high.
Overall, the agency pricing is not working.
It basically means that the "publishers" are now telling what the distributors will charge for their product. If Simon and Schuster say that the price for the latest Star Trek ebook is $9.99 then the distributer must sell it at that price.

I think some publishers are still negotiating what costs will be to the distributer and what the ebook price will be. The publishers are placing a higher value on the ebook format than I think most of us ereader owners are willing to pay and I think this will mean less sales at higher profit margins for the publisher. The author loses out because many readers, like myself, won't pay more than a certain price point and so they lose the sale. Both in ebook and paper because we won't buy paper anymore. So far the Trek books have been reasonably priced but that might change soon.

The problem is that until the agency model is fully sorted, not ever eBook store will be carrying Star Trek eBooks. So that limits where you can get them. Also, the last eBook I bought directly from S&S, I ended up having to get a refund because it was defective. And if I was to buy a Star Trek eBook from S&S again, it would be because I could not find the format I wanted elsewhere. And if it was again defective, I would want a fixed copy and not my money back.
Basically, this agency model what put into place before it was ready to be put in place. So for a lot of the eBooks affected, they aren't easily available.

As someone who desperately wants an Ebook reader but can't find one that seems to work with everything, its also pretty enlightening. I'm looking for a reader that uses e-ink, works with Adobe, Chapters/Amazon and ideally Overdrive for library books. It looks like that doesn't exist right now.

Yep. And it will probably never exist, either, unless Amazon throws out the ebook format they've invested in over the last five years. (Which I'd like to happen but don't expect.)
However, most ebook readers on the market (including the Nook) support everything you listed except Kindle content.
I have been using my iPod as an eReader. I get my Star Trek books from Kobobooks which has a large selection at reasonable prices. I find it really convenient to use the iPod because I just keep it in my pocket and can read any time and anywhere whenever I have a few minutes.
