At what passes for art at a New York museum, live female nudes are finding themselves ... as "interactive" art but over zealous patrons.

(LINK)

Would any of you pose for art like this and be subjected to what these girls are dealing with?

And would any of you be the ones kicked out of the meseum for feeling art?

I agree with the reviewer that it is not one of Jerry Goldsmith's best.

The only model quoted in the article is male.

And would any of you be the ones kicked out of the meseum for feeling art?
According to the article, "The exhibition, which opened March 14, includes nude performers standing in a narrow doorway facing each other as visitors squeeze between them." What the hell do they expect?

Oh, well another article had a nude female in the their pic, so I assumed there was that gender too, just not covered in this article.

Well, nudes tend not to get much coverage these days.....

I kind of agree. Would a person who volunteers for something like this have only art in their minds? They put their bodies on show, in a situation where physical contact is inevitable, and think they're right to complain if that contact lingers a bit too long, happens in not quite the right places. Are they really that oblivious to human nature?

But to me, a person standing motionless and naked in a doorway, is not good art. It's the sort of thing that happens in psychotic wards.

^^ At least one of those pics is NSFW, but I'm leaving it with a disclaimer for now. My fellow Mods may feel differently and delete it at their discretion.

I disagree that it's not valid as Performance Art, as long as everybody involved knows what they're getting into and doesn't get all sissy about it-- after all, the purpose of Art is to provoke feelings.

So squeezing between two naked people in a doorway is now considered art?

Makes me nostalgic for REAL art -- like Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup cans!

To demonstrate how completely useless my mind is sometimes, whenever I see this thread title all I think about is squeezing model Carmen Morrell who is one of the two twins in the picture below. Sometimes I think porn has ruined me.:sigh:
