If it was presented in just a matter-of-fact way as just another TARDIS interior, I might agree with you. But within the context of this story and the magical, fairytale setting Moffat is clearly trying to create, I thought it worked beautifully.
And this Console Room definitely looked like something out of a fairytale.

Random questions:
Why did the Atraxis turn up in a big googly-eyed space ship, when the prisoner had apparently escaped into the present time/space via a crack? Did they squeeze the ship through? Or travel accross space/time to find him?
What did the Doctor mean when refering to Geoff as "my best man"? As in 'at a wedding'?
How old is Rory? If he's been a qualified nurse since 1990 that'd make him 40ish in 2010? so he hardly grew up with Amy. NHS badges are usually issued for 3 or 5 years. Yet we have video phones, twitter and facebook, and some sort of qwerty phone (nokia?) for writing virii on. Kind of makes me wonder about that crack in the universe and who's in the wrong space/time. (And in which universe Amelia is still sitting on her suitcase).

What had the Toothy-worm done so to merit the designation 'prisoner zero'? Something kind of weird in assigning someone a number... that isn't a number. Sort of suggesting the 'before time' or 'outside of space'.

I'm not quite sure what the Doctor was referring to when he referred to Geoff as his "Best man" for the job during the video conference. Its possible that he was making a joke at Geoff's expense. The Atraxi spaceships reminded me of snowflakes in their design. As has been speculated Rory's nursing badge could have been a mistake. I agree that there seems to be more to the space rip than has been revealed...perhaps its something similar to the Cardiff space-time tear.

I'm assuming the Atraxi have people (or eyeballs) both inside and outside the prison, just like our prison guards will call on the state police for help when a prisoner escapes.

If young Amy hearing the TARDIS return was not a dream (I got the impression it was, but let's assume), perhaps the Doctor does return for her lter in the season and breaks some causality rule by doing so, a la "Father's Day," thus tearing holes in the fabric of reality.

I speculated on my blog earlier this week that it could be damage done as a result of the Time War. The Doctor, because he's "inside" the events that caused the damage can't see the cracks, he's not aware that history itself has changed. If so, Moffat could be telling the story that Davies didn't -- what did the Time War actually do to history?

I think Amy was dreaming as well...she's fixated on that one point of time and has created an entire fantasy around it and good point about Prisoner Zero taking the form of Amelia.

Looks like Moffat reads internet message boards. I distinctly recall reading somewhere that after he managed to make gas masks, statues and the dark creepy as hell, he'd next attempt to scare us with something innocuous like the old adage about stepping on sidewalk cracks. I couldn't help but grin upon seeing a variation of that in the opening part of the episode, even if it was completely unrelated.
I liked the episode. Matt Smith did a good job and was instantly believable as the Doctor. Karen Gillan was a bit awkward in parts but still better than Rose in her earliest appearances (full disclosure: not a Rose fan at all). I'm hopeful she'll settle into the role...if not she's certainly easy on the eyes.
