Those Annoying Habits

My brother and one of my good friends both eat obnoxiously loudly. I don't know if they're eating with their mouths open or what, but :scream:!

I'm pretty used to it by now though.

Yeah, that would be annoying. I'd slap them until they learned table manners. If that didn't work, make them eat outside.

My old boss says, "you know what i mean?" Every other sentence. Drives me nuts. It's even worse when i catch myself saying it.

She also stares at me, which is down right creepy. I've hired a few people over the last six months and every one of them has noticed the staring as well, so it's not just my imagination.

I'm usually the one with the annoying habits.

Not me. I'm perfect. :rommie:

Hubby's best friend sucks air through his teeth very loudly before every other sentence. It's the most annoying thing EVER.

Husband does that. His father does it too. I've warned the husband to quit it or i'll kill him but he does it so unconciously that i know he'll never stop until i do kill him.

Christian always talks to me like I'm a freakin idiot. It's pretty annnoying, because I actually get much better grades than the little midget. You have no idea how many times I've wanted to strangle him, or throw him off the bleachers, or toss a nice 10-pound rock at his noggin.

I'm dying to know. Who's Christian?

my husband drives me nuts when he calls a burger, a booger. EVERY time. We've been married 35 years so you can imagine how many times I've heard it.

I'm sorry, but that's hilarious!! Although i can definitely understand that being married to it WOULD drive me crazy.

Father in law. OMG. I have to get up from the table numerous times when he is here. There aren't enough drugs in the world to get me through a day with that man.

Also, my daughter ends every sentence in the story that she is telling us with a raised voice, like she wants affirmation that we've heard and understood every single word she has said. Sometimes i cannot stand it and i want to yell, "Just tell the god damn story already!!!!" But i smile sweetly and nod my head instead.

. . . Also, my daughter ends every sentence in the story that she is telling us with a raised voice, like she wants affirmation that we've heard and understood every single word she has said.
By any chance, are you and your daughter Australian? For some odd reason, a lot of Aussie women end their sentences with a rising inflection, as if they're not quite sure of what they're saying.

My mother annoys the shit out of me. She is 70 yrs old and she tries to act like she is in her 20's. I can only tolerate being around her for about 5 mins at a time (if that). I would much rather beat my head into a brick wall then be around her. :brickwall:

My Dad chews with his mouth open..and blows his nose IN HIS HAND WITHOUT A KLEENEX! UGHHH!! I'm like: dude, get a tissue! He does that every morning when he's awake. Thank god he is out of town for the night..geesh!

I sort of brought this on myself but...

I was sitting in the office of my now boss and quickly noticed she had a McDreamy sticker on her bicycle in the corner (which led me to assume she was a Grey's Anatomy fan like everybody else in this city.) I personally can't stand the show as I get all my prime time soap opera crap from Desperate Housewives. I do however, by virtue of having listened to endless conversations on the show, know a little bit about it. Well, the interview was going just okay until she asked what my former boss was like. That was my chance; "Well, she was a little like Miranda Bailey... oh, that's--" "Grey's Anatomy!" "Haha... yeah, she was a little like that."

Well, I got the job (though I really hope that wasn't why) and I am the only other person that works here who claims to like it. So now every time a new episode comes on or some drama regarding the cast occurs she rushes in to chat with me about it. I have actually started watching the show to make it easier on myself to have these conversations. And it is awful. Plain... straight up awful. But, she is my boss after all.

Oh what tangled webs we weave, eh?

Wow, you really put an efford into your job if you suffer through something in your free time that you don't even like . Personally, I like Grey's Anatomy so I enjoy watching the show. But I remember my time at collage when we had to watch certain movies or tv-shows in which I wasn't interested in. Usually it was a one-time job, but Grey's Anatomy could run for another season. Can't you find an excuse why you don't watch it anymore?

Hubby bites his nails to the quick--he runs out of nail and bites on the skin. UGH! Sounds like little rats chomping away. Usually I just request he stop for a while.

My stepfather has a similar habit. I hate it. Ugh.

I have to admit that I have got annoying habits myself, such as: I'm totally lazy and sometimes it's hard to motivate myself to get stuff done. Therefore I usually have a problem with meeting a deadline. And every time I swear that I will do it better the next time. So far with little success.

I use "fill-in words" also.

Nope, Nu Yawkas.
