Youtube Star Trek contradictions

indolover

Fleet Captain
Does anybody know the name of the Star Trek contradictions video on Youtube? I can't remember what the name of it is.

this one made me laugh in it:

"Captain Picard, have you recovered from your experience with the Borg?'
"Yes, I have completely recovered."
"And I will make them pay for what they've done!!!"

and this one also:

"A Klingon never allows himself to be taken prisoner! A Klingon fights to the death!"
"Welcome to Dominion Internment camp. You are here since you are enemies of the Dominion."

Awesome, isn't it?

The juxtoposition of those lines is funny, but it's not really an error. Picard could have honestly believed himself to be recovered. He hadn't seen the Borg since BoBW, and had no idea how he would react once he did.

These should be mandatory watching for those who claim the new movie is the first Trek to have so many errors. It is hilarious!

Its fascinating how some people complain about FTL traveling supernova shockwaves, but things like the Genesis device don't seem to bother them...

Your response has nothing to do with my quote. Perhaps you should have left it out.:techman:

That guy has posted reviews of All of the TNG Star Trek movies. He points out many of the inconsistancies noted above, and while he doesn't explicitly say so, he makes a decent case that the movies themselves take place in an alternate universe, based on how Picard in the movies takes an opposite position to one he expressed in the show several times.
To be fair, TNG did that to itself on occasion too. :)

He is making a real world case about the movies, the guy seems a bit too clued up to be worrying about alternate universes.

I happen to think he is pretty spot on about all the films except First Contact, where while a lot of his points are valid he misses the point that you have a very enjoyable film there, where the others at least at points are all a bit boring.

Confused Matthew makes the point on his site that the TNG crew as portrayed on TV just are not suited for movies, and that is fundamentally the problem.

This comment of yours has nothing to do with the topic. Perhaps you should have PM'd me. :techman:

BTW, your comment and mine are used in the exact same context, though you were talking about mistakes and I mentioned things (from the movies) that apparently made no sense. Call it an analogy, if you want. ;)

I have never seen that as an error either. Perhaps he didn't want to admit that he hadn't recovered.

Perhaps you should have PM'd me, if you think privacy is that important. Or better yet, just double check what you post. Mistakes happen. I usually find, for me, that it works to admit it and move on.
We now return to the topic at hand.

Wow! Those were amazing. So many little(?) details that i never noticed and i thought i noticed everything. That was awesome!

Those videos are amusing, however some of the errors they point out can be explained. For example:

-The Doctor telling Janeway if they ever made it home, he could have her court-martialed, and then showing her getting as an Admiral. Problem is, the Doctor's threat is from Year of Hell, an alternate timeline, so this doesn't really count.

-Picard being bald when he was a cadet. Maybe he just shaved his head when that picture was taken?
