Unlikely I know, but is anyone else watching any of the Indian Premier League Cricket?
I've been catching quite a few games recently (ITV4 are showing every match live so it's easy to dip in and out of it). It's 20:20 so matches are short, frequently exciting and there's always a result.
There was just an amazing match between Kings XI Punjab Chennai Super Kings and which Chennai were just totally dominating for about 3/4 of the match before a comeback that ended up in a draw, which meant it went to a Super Over tiebreaker. Thrilling stuff, with Kings XI winning and breaking their duck so far in the tournament too!
20:20 cricket may offend the purists, but it certainly makes for a more compressed/intense game. I still like the 5-day format for big international Tests but 20:20 is so much more fun for league play.
