Doctor Who the musical? (spoilers)

think I will wait until I see a similar story from a second source.

I second that. Especially since I don't believe the finale has been filmed yet.

Considering such rumours have had a zero-percent success rate in the past, I'm with Wamdue that such things shouldn't be believed until the BBC or a source like DWM (though even it doesn't have a 100% track record) says it's true.

And anyway, if it is a musical, who cares? My understanding is the most beloved episode of Buffy was the musical episode, and likewise Xena produced two popular musical episodes as well. And there has already been a musical Doctor Who stage play (The Ultimate Adventure).

Actually, if Murray Gold is still doing the music, I'd love for them to do a musical episode, something beyond having a background character singing The Stowaway or My Angel Put the Devil in Me. (I actually just got a flash of Karen Gillan doing that second song - she'd be great.)

Is the spoiler in your sig made up too? Because I'm not keen on the sound of it.

I'm pretty sure it has...

I think they're in the midst of filming it, but in past years production has usually continued past the start date of broadcasts, but sites such as the Doctor Who News Page and the other blogs would have reported it if it had concluded.

I don't know for certain if they've finished, but the two parter is not the last block - that's for Simon Nye's and Gareth Robert's episodes, and this late in the day you'd think they're onto them by now. The location shoot dates on this site show the bulk of filming was done a while ago.
