Alexander is fucking me up.

I've no idea how to beat this asshole with his 2-hit KOs without turning the console off and playing a different game.

I think I'm the only person that doesn't find Vanille annoying. But then again, I like Rikku too. Hope, on the other hand, I freaking hate. He is such a whiny brat, and is insisting on blaming the person that tried to save his mother for her death.

I too like Vanilla (as I call her) and hate Hope. Hope is a girl's name. Well I'm mostly through Ch.4 now and I definitely miss the FF12 gambit system. I'm slowly getting the hang of swapping paradigms though. Not loving the endless straight corridors. Also miss the lack of battle screen transition as in 12. I find the story of 12 better than this as well.

finaly found a good grinding spot on disc 2, hoping to get my crystariums maxed out before contnuing on

I don't mind Vanille. It's just a combination of her voice acting and Japanese genki girl personality that is off putting to most people.

Really, my biggest problem is the characterization of the entire cast. Only Lightning comes out pretty well, but that's because she's a cold and taciturn character.

I'm actually finding that I like Sazh ALOT more than I thought I would. At first I thought he was just going to be a walking, talking, blaxsploitation character but he seems to be more than that. When it comes down to it, the only characters I really like so far are Lighting and Sazh.

Sazh is pretty cool, too. Hell, I even kinda like Snow.

I love Light and Fang. I also really like Snow and Sazh. Vanille is pretty cool too, and I'm even warming up with Hope. So yeah, I'm definitely with the cast.

Pretty much the same. Like Vanille, but Hope I find frustrating, largely because his name seems to be a play on irony, with him actually being 'hopeLESS'......

Sazh is entertaining. Hope just seems to be that stereotypical anime young boy hero who wants to slit his wrists thing which I just despise. What's a genki girl? I hate Snow, both his personality and his look. And why is there a bear on his coat in battle but not in exploration?

A genki girl is another one of those character types found in anime. Its pretty much a highly energetic, overly excited, extremely active girl. Rikku from FFX falls into this category

Sazh is my favorite character so far, what with the Chocobo in his hair.

Sazh is alright - I just feel that they haven't done a good job explaining any of these characters... and I'm not reading a "datalog" just to see if I can find anything interesting. :lol

Played about 20 minutes of it. So far I like Lightning and Sazh, but Snow is already annoying me (to the put I rolled my eyes and turned the console off).

While impressive, those numbers aren't that great. Many people who got a PS3 did so to play FF13 (before it was exclusive). It would be interesting to see to the total sales numbers and compare them to the number of PS3s sold.

Well, there's also an exclusive 360 FF13 bundle in US/PAL territories, so that will skew the numbers.

Anyway, a sequel? How about finish Versus first before worrying about XIII-2.

I sot of feel the same way. It feels as if we are tossed into a world with zero explanation on the characters and the world. Thinking about it, that is one of the things I really liked about FFX. Tidus was tossed into a world he didn't understand so things were explained to him. As they were explained to him, they were easily explained to the audience as well. It made the game and characters much easier to understand
