Man the Boats, The Pacific launches tonight on HBO

Over here, I believe it's due to start at Easter on Sky Movies. I'll certainly be getting it on dvd when it comes out though:)

I'd love to see it but I don't have HBO. I'll have to wait for the DVD set.

I don't think there's anyone with a Sky subscription who hasn't been smacked over the head enough times with that information. :D

Indeed - They're being all evil and trying to tempt me:lol:.

So far, I think that may have been one of the only things they've advertised as a Sky Movies exclusive which is tempting for me at least. Any of the films they advertise that I fancy, I've either seen or can wait until I can get hold of it on dvd.

I just recently got HBO just so I could watch this. I watched Band of Brothers again over most of last week, so I'm ready to go. :techman: I think the feeling of The Pacific will be different from BoB, though; instead of a whole company, the focus is only on three specific characters. I also get the feeling that this will be darker and more brutal than BoB was.

Having just watched the first installment, I think you called it right Skywalker.

This seems darker and much more introspective than BoB.

My roommates and I picked up HBO just for THE PACIFIC. And yeah, I liked the first episode of this series, but not nearly as good as the first episode of BAND OF BROTHERS. Like has been stated, its a lot more introspective, a lot darker, but I don't like the fact that we really only got to know (and by know, I mean recognize) one, maybe two of the main characters.

I don't get HBO because for some reason I save an insane amount of money if I don't get HBO and Showtime. However my grandparent s do and my grandpa will probably watch it with me.
