Just seen these pop up at Forbidden Planet, they have a few percent off aswel on pre-order. May have to surrender to them and pre-order Dalton. Well, they dont look near as good as the previous Doctor Who lines released from Character Options. But then again, these are probably prototypes, so may not look like this. On the other hand, no they dont look all that compared to the previous run, but the one of Dalton is still the best out of them, and also the one i would choose to buy if i saw them on the shelves. And whats with the tiny heads of Ten and Eleven on the Tennant bodies? they look way out of proprtion and have a hunch back look to them. Hopefully, the full run may not look like this, heres hoping.
I'll be skipping this set entirely and hoping that they release them as singles at some point in the future. I've never cared for regen figures, the head of the new Doctor on the body of the old. To me, that's just not worth it. The only figure of the four I'd want is Dalton/Rassilon.
Thats what i thought when i first saw them. The first pic of Eleven looks fine, but the secind looks awful. It looks more like Smith than the second one too. Wonder if the top one is the figure on the shelves and the other one a prototype.
Supposedly. There were some prototype pics of the Seventh floating around for a while. If they come out any time soon, they'll likely be exclusives, the same way the First, Second and Third Doctors were. And then there's the much talked about and yet to be seen 11 Doctors giftset that was briefly up for pre-order on Amazon.
I would buy a Wilf figure, I was really hoping Wilf was a long lost Timelord who hid out on Earth. What about a Jenny figure?
Incedentally, this is a little off topic, but i have seen on Ebay some bidders bidding rediculous amounts in excess of £30 for a Fourth, Fifth or Sixth Doctor figure as they are considered rare, when if you look in large superstores such as an Asda, Tesco Extra and even Sainsbury's youll find them knocking around. her or there. I was in Forbidden Planet yesterday on Shaftesbury Avenue in London, and the place has loads of Fourth, Fifth and Sixth figures there for no more than £7.99 or £10 max. So if your looking for a classic Doctor figure, thats where they will be hiding out the Dalek invasion.
Well, really, that's only good for people in the UK. People in NA can usually get them inexpensively, via online retailers or through friends. People in Australia get screwed. They've no distribution there and with the exclusives limited to NA and the UK, the Aussies rely on the buddy system via various forums.
Sorry for the bump. Just wanted to let everyone know that the "End of Time" figures are now available in North America! I myself just ordered a Narrator and a 10th Doctor from Mike's Comics.
Hmm, I'm ready to see the Series 5 figs myself. I can't wait to see what the 11th Doctor (in his proper outfit) looks like.
Speaking of new Who figures, I popped into Pixel Barrel today and saw they have a pre-order figure for the 1st Doctor from "An Unearthly Child". It's scheduled for a May/June release.
I'm looking forward to that First Doctor figure as well. And as always, I'll be ordering from Mike's Comics. Funny that it's cheaper to order from the US than from 90 minutes up the road in my own province, not to mention my own country but hey, that's the way it is and Mike is a great guy anyhow.
While we're at it, this site has a completed shot of the 8th Doc, and it looks like there IS going to be an alternate "serious" head for the 7th Doc... http://www.infinitehollywood.com/2010/03/new-first-seventh-and-eight-doctor-who.html
