"Sundown" Live Commentary

Lost is really starting to piss me off. The promos in particular, that keep making promises about "the mysteries are finally answered" followed by an hour that goes nowhere. again. Interesting enough, but the commercials were bullshit again

Yeah, something about this episode just rubbed me the wrong way. It's one thing to be suspenseful, it's another to needlessly string people along without any real framework to judge wtf is happening.

just didn't feel like it added anything. things HAPPENED, but nothing really advanced what we already had

I thought the end was awesome and really saved the episode. But they answered absolutely nothing. They answered less than last week and they barely answered anything last week.

About the only thing this week's episode addressed in terms of character was Sayid's undying love of Nadia ... which we already knew about. Otherwise ... what was the point, other than to make Sayid the equivalent of a professional wrestling "bad guy"?

I think it did answer, or hint at answers-such as how the two universes connect. Dogen's son is alive, as is Nadia, and they both know it (well, we imagine that MiB will tell Sayid that she is alive)

So he wants Nadia back? Hasn't he ever read The Monkey's Paw? Ok, maybe not, but why trust notLocke to deliver when he never thought that much of Locke? He's definitely "unbalanced" all right.

^

So MiB gives Sawyer the choices, Sawyer chooses to leave the island with him, and MiB says "ok, hold on here, and I'll get back to you"

The impression I get when I see those ABC promos is when they're talking about mysteries being answered they're referring to the whole final season, not necessarily the particular episode that they're about to show.

You'd be right, except they only showed half-second flashes of the upcoming episode, telling us that showing any more would give us too much information about all the big secrets to be revealed that week...
