The BBC have apparently comissioned not only series 4 of the SJA, but series 5 as well!

Excellent!

Oops sorry Wamdue, I've just noticed you already posted this news elsewhere. Deserving of its own thread though surely ;)

Ha ha, that's the sort of joke that should see me pulled off the forum with a big hook really!

Geez, Sarah Jane has had more airtime on her own show than she ever did with the Doctor!

Though I hope this means that she and her Scoobies will meet up with the Eleventh at some point. Sarah Jane got her closure on her time with the Third and Fourth Doctors in "School Reunion"; I don't count a tiny long-off smile as closure on her time with the Tenth.

The Tenth spent an entire two episodes with her in Series 3 (The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith). I haven't seen those episodes yet, but she might have got her closure there.

I think the key is one of the producers of Moffat's DW, Nikki Wilson, is executive producing the new season of SJA. So the connection is being maintained. My concern as RTD moves away from DW is that the BBC, Moffat, or whomever might break up the family. Doctor Who these days, as far as I'm concerned, is a triple series consisting of DW, Torchwood and SJA. I'd hate to see that dispensed with.

slightly off topic, but ive always wondered what international viewers who might not have had the chance to see Sarah Jane Adventures, thought about Luke & Mr Smith showing up, they would of course already know of Sarah Jane & K9, but Mr Smith & Luke are large additions to her life that were not explained to them.

Awesome news! I love Sarah Jane Adventures and I can't wait to see more. :D

Perhaps we can hope for a Mike Yates or John Benton appearance now that The Brig and The Doctor have appeared? Pity Ian Marter is no longer with us. :(

Did here about the upcoming season 4 episode with the Doctor in it? Apparently the 11th Doctor and Amy will go undercover as Luke and Clyde classmates!! The Doctor will make the Tardis change into a Locker. LOL

I"ve not yet watched either SJA or Torchwood, but I'm happy to learn that there will be many more adventures for me to watch if/when I finally get around to watching either show. :)

Great news! If the series continues to improve each season like it has been (IMO at least), we should be in for a treat.

Actually he doesn't, he pops up at the end of part one and then spends most of episode two with Luke, Rani and Clyde, in total, over the course of the two episodes he spends no more than five minutes with Sarah Jane.

As for the return of The Sarah Jane Adventures, that's brilliant news, the more Ms Anjli Monindra is on telly, the better

I am disappointed that we never had a true 10th Doctor / Sarah Jane episode where she is the companion, whisked away to an alien world.

In some ways SJA has made that harder to do, but if the BBC was to do a book of it, I would have read it, its a shame they didnt if you look at the last few NSA books, they are all solo Doctor novels with 1 shot companion figures, no reason not to do with one with Sarah Jane.

While I'm pleased by this news, for a while now I have been wanting to see some other past companions from Classic Who turn up. I wonder what Ace is up to, or Tegan, or Jo?

^Ian. Now that the Doctor is a young man, we need to get Ian Chesterton back as his old coot companion for an episode or two....
