Vancouver Olympics Discussion

That was the daintiest DQ I've seen in men's 500m.

Well, Ohno's probably fired up for the relay now.

And in the meantime, Reutter picks up a silver in the women's 1000m (which NBC is not showing live).

Ohno didn't even celebrate, he knew what he had done.

The DSQs are very strange in that sport. At times, there's lots of jostling on the track, at other times, a mere touch is a DSQ. Glad I don't judge these things.

And then sometimes the judges start getting death threats. One of the Sportsnet commentators mentioned the Aussie judge that DSQ'd the Korean team in the relay the other has apparently gotten a few death threats, which is why he hasn't been judging the races tonight.

Seriously, does it really matter that much?

:sigh:

Another gold for Canada, very impressive race from start to finish. Not very exciting for a neutral observer like me though unfortunately. ;)

Not to spoil the party, but he should have been dq'd too imo.
Just saw the replay and I agree that Hamelin's contact with the Korean skater (followed by the skater going down) was not much different than Ohno's contact.

That was intense. I wish the entire game had been like the last 5 minutes. Grats to Canada and good luck in the final.
