What can I say, rhyme is my forte.Oh heck, it's like a challenge!Beats me. I'm amazed you were able to rhyme Diogenes.
An ancestor of RJDiogenes
Was a Celtic lass named O'Shaughnessy
She preferred ripe tomatoes
To the common potato
And inspired that love in her progeny.
And among her myriad progeny,
The Great RJDiogenes
(Who rather dislikes cottage cheese)
Enjoys Greek Pizzas in twos and threes
He'll eat them with olives or pepper,
Fiery as his Irishman's temper,
Which will make one quake at the knees!

My Av is currently of Jon Lester, the Ace of the Boston Red Sox, who has quite a remarkable story. He was a stand out prospect in the Red Sox minor league farm system, and was considered one of the top prospects in baseball. In 2006 he was finally promoted to the Major Leagues, and began what was to be a remarkable career. Then, after going to the doctors after a minor car accident, he was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma, a treatable form of cancer.
With his baseball career on hold, over the end of the 2006, and through most of the 2007 season he went through treatment for his cancer. He returned during the 2007 season, and when the Red Sox need a starter for the clinching game of the World Series later that year, he started, and won the game.
During the 2008 season, Lester regained the strength he had earlier in his career, and established his dominance in the American League, and in May of that season he threw a No-hitter against the Kansas City Royals. Since then he has emerged as one of, if not the top, left handed pitcher in the majors, and is still getting better.
While I have never been touched personally by cancer, I still think his story is an inspirational one.

Actually friends with. Well, acquaintances would be more accurate - I don't see her very often, but we know each other well enough to say hi and exchange pleasantries. I'm actually not sure when the last time was that we would have seen each other.
Mine was created by a friend from Livejournal - he used it as an icon one day and I just loved it. As a gay Canadian, I'm appalled at how some of the rest of the world is still lagging in giving basic equal rights to LGBT people. (Plus, I loves me a man in uniform.

"Trials and Tribble-Ations" is my favourite episode of "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and probably my favourite episode of any Star Trek series. It's also the episode that solidified my love for the Jadzia Dax character. The joy with which she walks through that episode deliriously happy as she comments on everything and everyone around her delights me to no end.
The last few times I've watched it, I've ended up inspired to take one of my favourite Jadzia moments and make an avatar out of it, like her eye contact with Kirk and her comment about McCoy's hands. Last time I was so charmed by how she finished Sisko's explanation about old Starfleet uniforms that I decided to capture that wonderful Jadzia moment in animated avatar form.

I thought you started out as "cadet" then moved up in "rank" as you posted. If she's a lieutenant, how did she get that far without having enough posts for an avatar pic?
Well, there is a website place thing called Gaia Online which is like an online community of sorts... it's hard to explain but basically they have this avatar thing where you make a little person and you can buy clothes and items for it and it is the avatar used to represent you around the site, and some of the people who use the site have compiled all of the items and things onto another webpage that lets you try on any of the items available and it will tell you how much your outfit would cost and save it so you can just buy the whole outfit from the Gaia shop all at once. And I got on one night and just made a bunch of them and took screenshots, and turned them into avatars. I made 47 of them that night. I've been cycling through them randomly the past few days.
As of posting this, the one I have up is a person half poking out of a black hole. It goes with my location of "In the past, creating alternate realities" to make a Star Trek XI joke.

I love lolcats, I don't care what anyone says about them. Cats themselves are like British comedy. You take a bunch of snooty, proper characters and place them in ridiculous and awkward situations...that contrast is what makes it funny. Same with cats.
