I saw the film last night with friends. The general consensus is that the acting was great and the cinematography was up to par, but the story was too predictable. We had it figured out after twenty minutes, and ultimately that does make things a little disappointing.
Really?I don't know about the plot twist being completely obvious. Yes, we had a feeling what part of it would be but once we got to see the extent of it and its connections with (MILD SPOILERS) the apartment fire, the aronist's name, the mental patient who murdered her three kids, and a few other things, I wouldn't say we saw all of that coming.
Absolutely. All around the film was really acted, even from Ruffalo, who I wasn't expecting much from.I thought the movie was great in both cinematography and acting, especially Leonardo DiCaprio's. I felt sorry for his character by the end of the movie and his final line will have me always wondering if he knew what he was doing in that moment.
