Had a whole two weeks of real life drama and finally was able to wrap up the Miral Paris mission last night.

Now I'm THIS close to being a lt. commander...

On my starter ship I got disruptors fore and aft and quantum torps that I picked up via ship drops. Not that I think of it, all my ship slots are decked to the max by ship drops.

My whole away team has body armor, mark 2 shields and high powered alien rifles thanks to drops on away missions too!

Fun game, this STO. Now we need more sandbox features... :-)

Destroyed the Planet Killer. It took me out at the same time, mind you... :D

The first time I did the Doomsday Machine I just circumvented the enemy fleet, entered the planet's core from the far side, loaded the big badaboom torpedoes and fired them at the planetkiller which shortly afterwards responded by exploding.

Mission done. Not even in danger of being destroyed myself. :rommie:

I can't stand the Crystalline Entity mission. People are so dumb. Despite being repeatedly told to avoid the fragments and concentrate on the Entity, they get into dogfights with the damn fragments, healing the entity!

I can't tell you how many times I tried to complete that Fleet Action only to quit in frustration. Oh well, I'm done it now :)

I hate having a small ship! I keep getting blown up. Went to K7 and accidentally played in a Borg map. Had a Klingon BoP +4 take me on in my little cruiser. Was pretty fun and equal until he ran away when I was closing in for the win. Coward. That's not the Klingon way! That BoP was running circles around me.

Actually, if you don't destroy the fragments, they heal the Entity. You need to shoot the Entity to get it to fragment and then destroy the fragments. (I spent 30 mins in one fleet engagement where we all just shot the entity and it didn't drop below 99%)

I'm a LC 7 now. Might make commander by the end of the week.

How does one get $$ for the exchange, etc? Is it selling stuff you've found?

I can't be bothered to find the time to sell things on the exchange. I usuallly send everything to the replicator if I don't have a need for it.

It's really not that big a deal... just put everything in there, slap a price tag on it and the rest happens by itself... Always nice to receive a surprise cash income notice after that. :)

Today's discovery: I hate midget Klingons in PvP maps. You can't hit the bastards, and they dance around you, constantly swiping at you with their bat'lethmey so you can't shoot back!

If you think that's annoying, try fighting gnomes in World of Warcraft.
