NBA: Cavs pull off major trade to get Antawn Jamison

It is by no means a guarantee for the NBA title, but it's a heckuva great step in that direction. Not only do they get a great forward scoring 20 pts/gm and 8 rbs/gm, they get his solid professional demeanor and leadership. On top of that they don't have to give up JJ Hickson, who is becoming solid power forward. Plus.... they may easily get back one of the players they DID trade - center Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

I'm amazed there was an actual trade of players with the attempt to win something.

Seems like it's all about expiring contracts these days.

No question that, on paper at least, the Cavs have made a great move despite the Jamieson's dubious debut (that will fix itself). But the question remains, can they win a championship? One of the problems they could face is, even with Jamieson playing well, his game might not mesh with the team's. But he is a great scorer, and you can never have enough points.

Cavs appear to be a lock for the Finals. The Lakers' only challenger appears to be Denver. But I think we'll handle the Nuggs in 7, so it looks like Lakers/Cavs in the Finals. Should be interesting.
