Tell Me Three Things About Yourself

I wish I could find everything blueberry...soda, ice cream, gummy bears, sauce for my chicken.

I have seen soda, candy in blueberry flavor.

I could also go for the ultimate blueberry pie.

Oh yes! I love blueberries. I can't tell you how much money I spend each year on fresh ones at the grocery store. I eat them like candy. When I was three or four, I would escape into out backyard and eat blueberries off a bush my mom had. If mom didn't catch me, I would clear out all the rip ones that I could reach.

And blueberry pie is one thing but you haven't lived until you have had my mom's blueberry cobbler. It is tart and tangy with just the right amount of sweet and a butter crust. With a little vanilla ice cream, you would think you were in heaven.

Can I do my three things again? I have more interesting things than what I put down the first time. I didn't realize were looking for things to discuss.

DAMN YOU!!!

Now I really want some blueberries.

:(

No kidding, we're going to Smurfs mom's house...:scream:

I'm also very terrified of heights and am claustrophobic to a degree as well. I don't even like standing in a chair either and get dizzy just over looking a balcony as well. But I did do something that Mom didn't do-I actually went up 100 floors in the Empire State Building in New York City when my Aunt and Uncle went there in 2001. :) I was about ready to get down though! Kinda scary overlooking a balcony!

^ That reminds me of the time I went up into the Arch in Saint Louis. I was all excited when we got into the little elevator car thingy. But once we made it to the top and I realized the darn thing was swaying in the wind with nothing underneath me, I completely freaked out. I think I was in the observation room less than a minute before I was clawing my way back into the down elevator car thingy. I can only imagine what I would do hanging off the top of a sky scraper. Faye Wray can have it.

If I am feel adventurous later I might recount the story of wigging out because I thought I was going to have sit at the top of these open bleachers at a baseball game. And I am not going to mention the time I almost quit my job because they were trying to force me to fly on an airplane.

1. I have a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
2. I have read 1023 books and 755 magazine articles since 1989 (I actually keep a notebook of everything I have read).
3. I still sleep with my baby blanket. It is pretty much a rag now, but I am so used to it being around that I can't fall asleep if it is not located somewhere near me. :)

Three more:

1. I detest most vegetables - mainly cabbage, sprouts, that sort of thing. When I was a kid, I found out at school that there's a chemical in most veg that is flavourless for most people, but tastes horrible for a minority. I was one of the handful of kids that could taste it. VINDICATED BY SCIENCE! HA!

2. I failed the driving test three times before admitting defeat (I also ran out of money). This was more than twenty years ago, and I never did get round to trying again.

3. I quit a thirty-year smoking habit last year. And I never got any cravings. I was really glad about that...

I can sympathize!
When my friend took me to a football game last year, I had no idea the seats were in the upper tier nosebleeds. It was so high, I could see over Paul Brown stadium and see the Ohio river, the bridge, look in the other direction and see the interstate, and downtown Cincinnati. There were no rails, just 12" wide aisles to walk down and nothing to hold on to. I had to fight not to run down the steps.

Do you also not like cucumber? I'd read that cucumbers are something that only a few people can really taste and those that can hate it

Congratulations!

So what you're saying is we mention anything about the blanky and you'll kick our asses...

RevDMV,

LOL! No. Everybody teases me about my blanky. It is a rag now. It was covered in purple flowers and when I was 5 years old my mother washed it in Clorox and the clorox ate a hole where every flower was. I then had a boxer puppy and she got a hold of it and ripped it in two. She got the boot after that and I ended up having to tie it back together.

3) I have a B.A. in English and Theatre & Film Studies -- and I have no idea what to do with it.

If you're on Facebook, you can do what I did and join the group "I Picked a Major I Like, and One Day I Will Probably Be Living In a Box."

Ha! Maybe I will. :D

1) When I was 14, I received my black belt in Taekwondo.

Cool, I never got beyond the blue-red one. Are you still practising, and if so, what Dan have you reached?

Nah, I quit shortly after I got the black-belt. To be honest, I never really liked doing it as a kid; my parents signed me up for it, as they did for a number of things (swimming lessons, skating lessons, etc.). I always told them that once I got my black-belt, I would be finished with Taekwondo, and I was pretty much true to my word.

Of course, now I can look back and appreciate it a lot more... in fact, I kind of wish my parents would've enrolled me in a bunch of other stuff I probably would've hated at the time, now that I can see the benefits in them. It's funny how that works.

2. I have read 1023 books and 755 magazine articles since 1989 (I actually keep a notebook of everything I have read).
...

I wish I had done that. Sometimes at the book store I will look at a book for ten minutes trying to figure out if I've read it before, or if I've just read the blurb... :P

I do that with movies. When I buy a DVD I immediately take it home and check "the collection" to see if I already have it. I have ended up taking more than a few back.

Wow, you didn't run into any problems with that? And your current Dalmation is "Lily" right? Or am I remember wrong?

You remember correctly!

Amazingly, no problems with the immigration. My then-wife sponsored me. I probably would have gone home to work and save money for the process and it would have happened much sooner but she didn't want to be separated. Instead I stayed as a visitor and worked crappy cash jobs (like as a gypsy cab driver) for a few years. And in the end the only way we could afford the fees was when my aunt passed away and left me a good sum of money.

Three more facts:

1 - I'm "sort of" bilingual in Spanish (or trilingual, since I speak Tagalog, too). I studied Spanish grammar and composition in high school and in college and can easily write a paragraph in Spanish. But I can't carry on a conversation with a native speaker.

2 - I often take notes when I'm watching my favorite shows (e.g., LOST, CSI, Heroes, etc.). I have a couple of journals/notebooks where I jot down details about the episode's highlights and revelations. ;)

3 - I'm a very introverted and private person, and I tend to spend time with family and close friends. In the presence of co-workers and other people, I can be quite diplomatic and charismatic, and I'm flattered that people sometimes look to me for advice.

1. While I'm outwardly an extrovert, I really, REALLY like being alone
2. I have a "save the world" mentality that has kept me from really doing things that I want to do.
3. My kids mean more to me than life itself.

1. I may have a lot of friends, but i'm really lonely.
2. I put on a persona on line, but in real life, i'm really shy.
3. I come off as an asshole but once you get to know me, you'll find out how loyal i am.

1. I recently found out that I'm lactose intolerant, which explains some of the IBS symptoms I've had for years.

2. I worry deeply about the suffering of people (and the planet, life, our society, etc), and feel I should do something to improve the world even a little bit...but when push comes to shove, I'm very lazy, short-sighted and selfish.

3. I'm an intern at Zoic Studios, as seen in my location (yes, the Firelfy and BSG guys); they're currently doing V, CSI and others...and I've seen Things. Awesome Things. I also wrote and am producing our intern visual effects project, under the tutelage of the producers and artists there. :techman:
