Lost SPOILERS Four-Toed Foot!

Thing I'm wondering about now - is that it's been established that apparently Jack's dad was never on Oceanic 815 to begin with (they can't find the body), making it unnecessary for Ben to have ever killed John to begin with to "maintain the balance" to get back to the island. Was this planned out by the MIB from the beginning so he could take Locke's shape to get Jacob killed? Was this the "loophole" that Jacob mentioned?

Well...we don't know that Christian was on the original 815, either. His coffin was, but we never saw his body...

or for "Dave." Since he was never alive, only a figment of Hurley's imagination when he was in the Mental Hospital.

Or for Walt, since walt isn't dead (or on the island).

Spoilers for the endings of the remaining episodes of the season!

Someone says something shocking to someone. Reaction shot on the other person. Close on the first person. Strings build to a crescendo, then -- BOOM -- cut to black. Two seconds of blackness. "LOST" appears.

Remember you read it here first.

From Entertainment Weekly:

Maggie Grace, Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros, and Rebecca Mader will be returning this season.

(I'm not sure how many of those were reported earlier, but Maggie Grace, while speculated, hasn't confirmed before now).

Maggie Grace, who played Shannon on Lost, will return to the ABC drama later this season, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse confirmed to EW.com. “We’re really excited about having her back on the show,” says Cuse, “and we have a good story for her.” The producers would not specify how many episodes she would appear in. An original cast member, Grace exited the show in season 2 when her character — the spoiled stepsister of Boone — was killed off, though she did resurface in a season 3 episode. Harold Perrineau, Cynthia Watros, and Rebecca Mader are among the other dearly departed who will guest-star in Lost’s sixth and final season.

Some interesting titbits:
we watched the stunt doubles for jack and sawyer go in the water, and essentially from what i saw, jack was pulling a very wet and passed out sawyer, and was trying to wake him up or w/e. and it hurley was coming over with kate, and she seemed to have maybe been injured, since hurley was helping her over with her arm on his shoulder.

this scene included jack kate sawyer and hurley.
we eventually left. because it was sprinkling, and they kept moving us around, although they were very nice to us, it became a pain in the ass. especially since they would tell us they were just moving us out of the shot, when i m not stupid and could use my eyes, not to mention the fact that i ve worked on many films and video shoots to know which way the camera was facing and what they are doing....and so on. they were just being a pain. even though we know that we can do whatever we want ON the beach, we decided to give them a break and just leave earlier....

BTW, this IS episode 14. i CAN confirm that.
and for the record, not all of the filming is ALWAYS for that certain episode.
my g/f and i were at the temple set recently and found a shot list for episode 6. and it appeared to be alot of pick ups. and was dated for feb 01. so they have apparently been shooting a number of pick ups as well...also one of the crew said its likel they ll be extending their shooting time, because they will need the time...

Interview with Dogen:
Zap2it: Is "Lost" popular in Japan?
Sanada: Very much. I just came back from Tokyo last night. I did a big event with Carlton — talk shows, press conferences. We got a great reaction there. I was surprised at how big it is in Japan. There is a big audience for "Lost."

Zap2it: How many more episodes are you in this season?
Sanada: I can't tell you exactly how many, but I've already finished my shooting.

Zap2it: But you'll be in a few more, correct?
Sanada: A few more, yes.

Zap2it: What is your read on Dogen and his motivation?
Sanada: He grew up in Japan, and somehow he came to the island. He has a mission, which is studying the island. He's very — he has a lot of loyalty to the mission [and is willing] to sacrifice. I think that's the most important thing to him. And he knows something [laughs].

Zap2it: Do you have a sense of where Dogen fits into the hierarchy of the Others? Does he have any more authority than, say, Ben (Michael Emerson) or Richard (Nestor Carbonell)?
Sanada: I don't know if he's equal, or who knows more or is more important. But he's an important person on the island. Yeah, he's mysterious. [Laughs] He was mysterious for me, too. Every week I'd read the script and realize, "Oh — oh my gosh." I really enjoyed reading the script every week.

Zap2it: Do you think Dogen's view of Jack (Matthew Fox) changed after he was willing to swallow a poison pill in "What Kate Does"?
Sanada: Yes. ... I have many scenes with Jack, and also Sayid [Naveen Andrews]. The two of them are the most important people [to Dogen].

Zap2it: They're who you deal with the most?
Sanada: Yes. And they're great actors, so I was very lucky. I had a great time with them.

Zap2it: Do you know how long Dogen has been on the island?
Sanada: He's been living on the island for about 20 years.

Zap2it: And, without giving too much away, what can we look forward to with the character?
Sanada: It will be clear why he came to the island and what his mission is.
The fact that Sanada has finished his shooting could indicate the character is marked for death this season. I guess the 20 years on the island thing is a bit of a spoiler.

Canadian "Lighthouse" promo.

New Dogen spoilers from TV Guide:
What are we to make of Lost’s perplexing temple master? He tried to drown and poison Sayid. Then in the February 23 episode, he turns up in Jack’s flash-sideways as a father advising Jack to be a hands-on dad. And exec producer Damon Lindelof says, on March 2, “Dogen’s mysterious origins and history with the island are finally revealed” as he faces off with Sayid.

Claire spoilers from Emilie de Ravin:
So Claire is crazy, huh?
[Laughs] In a nutshell, yes!

Funny you say the word "nutshell" because I've heard something about a squirrel baby ...
Mmmhmmm ... I've made myself a squirrel child out of squirrel bones and some kind of fur and little button eyes. He's real cute.

Obviously you can't just disappear with your father in that cabin for a full season and not have repercussions, so is this what's happened?
Yeah, she's been three years, living on her own, making her own housing and food and protecting herself. The only person she's had contact with as a friend is Locke -- who's not really Locke anymore. So any information that she's been given about what's going on with other people or the Island is from him. And there are maybe some things that are not the whole truth. He's led her to believe that the Others have her baby at the Temple, so that's been her whole plan this last three years, to get him back. Finding out that he's off the Island and Kate is bringing him up is just like a complete, complete shock to her. So there's an interesting relationship with Claire and Kate now -- a combination of animosity, to say the least, and also respect and thanks. So that's been fun playing with.

So since you're the one playing it, do you think there's a way she can snap out of it? Or will Claire just end up on the Island still crazy?
I mean, the evolution this season for her character is sort of coming back to who Claire was. You know, she's still there, underneath it all, even though she's pretty damn loopy. There's still flickers of who Claire is and was, and maybe will be again. Or not.
General stuff:
I found this to be an interesting call for a scene in 6-15. Jacob, "Man in Black" and "mother" are the characters.

Just a few other things

- They are taking down the temple set that has been up at Diamond Head Studios since the beginning of the season as well as clearing out the whole stage.
- I saw them building a new small outdoor set. I THINK it is the interior of a sub. Like a sub cabin. Not sure why they are building it outside, unless they want to poor water into it. :)

...

- A scar adds to the feeling that the 2 timelines are connected
- Jack likes Pizza
- Jack will hear himself on a recording
- Jack will converse with "Dogens" son
- Jack like before is separated
- Hurley's Hunger leads to Jacob
- Someone is coming to the Island
- Indiana Jones shoutout
- Someone says these words ""I can do whatever I want I'm a candidate"
- Jack and Hurley run into Kate
- Back to the Adam and Eve Caves
- Christians Coffin
- What's at 108 Degrees?
- "he's been watching me my whole life"
- Claire has a new "friend"

This is a riddle, but it could be a biggie spoiler if it can be solved. (well, apparently we will get the answer about half way through this season). So I am putting it in it's own spoiler code, and I figure anyone posting any guesses or the answer should put that in spoilers as well.

So…What Is the Island? It's described as a four-letter word. There's your first clue! Shall we play Hangman? There are no A's or E's in the word…Wanna buy another vowel? Okay, one more thing I can tell you is this: The Island has to exist, from what I've been told, and more importantly, someone has to protect it. It's important to the fate of the world outside of the island.
