Eleven teams depart for their first destination in Chile, where a high-flying roadblock leaves one team struggling to stay in the game.

Vote for who you like/rooting for so far!

Don’t miss it tonight at 8/7c on CBS!

I'll be watching for sure, and rooting for Jordan & Jeff. They're cute and I liked them as a couple/team on BB last summer. :D

I checked it out on my schedule only because this was the first week of survivor. I figured that might mean it was also the first week of amazing race. It's a good thing too...because my dvr has a weird tendency to think of different seasons of survivor and amazing race as completely new shows. I have to set a new series recording all over again every season.

So...we have two contestants famous for being idiots ("don't know how to read clocks" Big Brother girl and Miss Teen South Carolina)...They should be entertaining.

Entertaining, yes, though I personally think that contestants in things like that, especially where they have won, shouldn't be allowed to be on TAR except in special Celebrity seasons. I like seeing the more common man and women race. I also don't want every season to be the Celebrity Amazing Race.

I'm glad they dropped that thing from last season, where a team got eliminated before the race even began, that was stupid, I like it to where you are at least guaranteed to run the first leg and go out of the country.

lol at going into someone's house and painting it

well so, there you go, not who I thought would be going home first

gotta pay attention to those fine details, they can getcha

I liked the task, I want to do the rope thing, no complaints with the tasks this leg

I dont have a favorite yet, but I hope the following teams DONT win:

The ditzy Miss Teen - you had your 15 minutes of fame as a retard already.

The "Big Brother" winner - Dont they get like $500,000 for winning that crappy show? She dont need the money and shouldnt be allowed to complete.

The gay brother - I couldnt stand the way the last two gay brothers screwed over the Harlem Globetrotters so I do not support any gays.

The lesbians - see above (now if they were both hot and young I might make an exception)

The baseball coach - He coached a team that went to the World Series - He has money so he dont need it.

As long as they dont win, I will be happy.

Favorite moments:

--girl mistakenly saying she wanted a ticket to China rather than Chile

--team asking for Brazilean money instead of Chilean money

--team walking into some dude's house and painting

It looks like next week will see the teams allowing "cuts" (like in grade school, where you can let somebody into line just behind you).

Good start, but man we have some stupid teams so far. Please tell me it gets better in terms of reading what is on the clue because this was a problem a few seasons ago. I don't really have a favorite yet, even though the BB couple could be a cool group but I'm not sure how I feel about c-list celebrities on the race, such as the BB group, or miss teen south carolina. I know you had the Globetrotters last year, but maybe that's setting an unwanted trend of not allowing the regular joes on the race. See how this season goes.

I had to laugh at the prize for this week. A Trip to Vancouver and trying out Skeleton on the Whistler track. Impeccable timing CBS, Impeccable timing. I wonder if they've had that trip yet. ;)

Man the cowboys are dumb. But then they make a living get the crap knocked out of you by a mad bull...

Painting the wrong house was funny as hell, the two workers even critiqued them.

I kind of wish that being a celebrity disqualified you from the race. It just seems so... silly.

I'm glad they got rid of that stupid gimmick of the race start elimination. But then again, the format is a bit long in the tooth. Here's hoping they go to some new places. :)

Did one girl say "Danke" after getting her clue?

I would hardly call Jeff and Jordan celebrities. If anyone here watched Big Brother, especially the live feeds or After Dark, you know that they are about as "average joe" as it gets. I believe Jordan worked in a hair salon and lives with her mom and brother. When she won Big Brother she said she was going to use the money to buy a house for her mom. Jeff lives in Chicago and works at some advertising company I believe, but has been a model in a couple of ads. I normally don't care for reality TV crossovers but the reason it's alright for them is because they were just so damn cute! They fell for each other while in the house and were just such the perfect pair, made for each other. And everyone wondered if they would date outside the house or just go back to their separate lives. So it's nice to see some follow-up on that relationship and in such an exciting setting as the Amazing Race! I was shocked that they got first place this leg....they weren't exactly great at the challenges in Big Brother! I hope they do well.

There's no team I hate so far...give it time.

Yeah, add in the team that started painting over graffiti (in a color that clearly didn't match) and the team that got penalized after misreading the clue and so far this doesn't look like a very bright bunch.

Kind of liked that they made the teams take public transportation to the airport in L.A. That probably started everyone out on equal footing since I doubt many people are familiar with it. Of course, with the mechanical problems on the first plane it didn't matter anyway.

Well, yeah, they're not celebrities any more than former baseball guy and Miss Teen "the Iraq" girl... but I kind of feel like these spots should go to people who haven't been on TV before.

So I just got caught up on the first two episodes and figured I'd post here, since there doesn't seem to be a thread for episode two.

Anyway, I was liking the father\daughter team at first, but Jet and Corb really won me over with the way they played round two. They weren't exactly sneaky, they were just damn clever and managed to race well once they got to their destination. Fun to watch, especially how they encountered no other teams after they transfered buses. :techman:
