Er...what's gay-related?
For instance, I'm watching Watchmen right now, and while there are no specifically gay primary characters, there are at least two references to homosexuality.
X-Men 2 has not-so-subtle references to homosexuality while lacking explicitly gay characters.
Star Trek '09 features characters who have been the subjects of countless amounts of gay fiction.
Independence Day has Harvey Fierstein. 'Nuff said.
American Beauty, Boogie Nights, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Dude, Where's My Car?, In & Out, Groundhog Day, Hairspray, Harold & Kumar, Heathers, Interview with the Vampire, Kinsey, LA Confidential, Lord of the Rings, My Own Private Idaho, Shrek 2, Some Like It Hot, Milk, Brokeback Mountain, Jeffrey, Mamma Mia, The Birdcage, Cruel Intentions...
To be fair, I -am- gay, so big shock that I'd gravitate towards gay-related movies.

hahahha I ment to say gay theme movies that my mistake. By the way I like The Birdcage, American Beauty, and Cruel intentions. I'm still waiting for a sequel for Birdcage. I guess 'm gonna have a long wait..... You should see The Witnesses, Summerstorm, The Adventures Of Felix, Before Night Falls, and Coming Out.
I was thinking you would reference movies like Philadelphia. What's gay about Shrek 2 or Groundhog Day?
I'm quite fond of Touch of Pink.
I've seen a few good movies with gay love stories. "Brokeback Mountain" wasn't one of them. It had solid performances, but I thought the romance was pretty lame and unconvincing. Much more powerful and intelligent were "Kiss of the Spiderwoman" and "Lost and Delirious". "Bound" is just a kickass thriller that happens to have two lesbian characters and "But I'm a Cheerleader" is a really fun, sorta campy, but surprisingly insightful and touching comedy about a closeted lesbian.
Setting aside movies like Mysterious Skin wherein the main character is gay, but the movie isn't really about homosexuality, many of my favorite films have gay themes. I recall really loving Ma Vie En Rose, a wonderful movie about a child who was born a boy but who is convinced that a mistake was made and that he is supposed to be a girl. It's a really lovely, touching movie that avoids saccharin sweetness with intelligent levity. Hedwig and the Angry Inch is another personal favorite, and I was lucky enough to see the show off-Broadway and meet the wonderful star, John Cameron Mitchel (the most talented man in the universe). Wilde, though it covers more than just homosexual themes, is a great biopic, beautifully acted by the wonderful Stephen Fry. And Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is always fun too!
One movie that I will suggest is an Australian movie "The Sum of Us" featuring a young Russell Crowe.
It deals with a widowed father and his gay son as they both look for romance in their lives.

I forgot about Philadelphia (mostly went off movies I own).
Shrek 2 has a cross-dresser, and Groundhog Day has a (minor) gay character.
I have seen a few, i can't remember the names of any of them because they all sucked. There was Latter Days, I liked it when I was younger but I think I would find it lame now.
Brokeback Mountain is over rated garbage, yeah i said it. Puts me to sleep nicely every time.
The only good one is "Philadelphia" with Tom Hanks. He plays a gay lawyer who gets HIV / AIDS. Good movie, got to love Tom Hanks.

About the only 2 "really gay" movies are Brokeback Mountain (awesome lovestory and well played) and Saving Face.
Saving Face is about an american chinese female doctor who has to balance traditional chinese culture (where homosexuality is a big nono) and her relationship with another chinese woman.. really funny comedy/ethno story. Check it out.

Does "Milk" count as "gay-related"? Then that's probably the last one I've seen.
I've seen several films on the LOGO channel that were quite good. The fact that there was a gay theme was secondary to the script being interesting as far as I cared. If the story is compelling then I really don't care if it is straight, bi, gay or animated as those are just human conditions being portrayed.

As mentioned before, Bryan Singer's X-Men films are a great allegory for homosexuality and dealing with being a minority in general. The scene in X-Men 2 where Bobby Drake comes out to his parents is the most obvious representation of that.
I really do enjoy a film that has appeared on LOGO called Get Real, which I actually saw a few years before on Showtime or Cinemax. It features a young British student who falls in love with the jock at his school, and they develop a relationship, whilst keeping it secret to their classmates and parents around them. I thought it was a real sincere, heartfelt story that was instantly relatable (falling for someone out of your league).
Notes on a Scandal is a great thriller where the one-sided laden homosexuality between the two main characters is never overtly mentioned besides a little reference towards the third act. Other more obvious choices like Milk, Brokeback Mountain, Philadelphia and others are all well-made, however obviously not subtle, gay-themed movies with resonance and depth.
Mysterious Skin is also excellent. Joseph Gordon-Levitt delivers a truly haunting performance and it's a great film.

I also remember Ang Lee's Wedding Banquet to be a rather nice movie, although it's lighter than any of the above mentioned.

I don't get this thread? What if someone posted "Straight-related movies?"? Has society not moved past the point that we need to differentiate? You either enjoy a film or not. Discuss individual films on their relative merits regardless of there underlying sexuality, unless it is a main theme as in Brokeback Mountain. As Star Trek fans we should know better.
