Survivor: Heroes VS Villians

I think Russell is going to get voted out within the first three shows. In all the interviews I see him doing for the H vs V season it doesn't really seem like he's talking much smack. I think he probably got eliminated early.

Do you think the others got to see the past season? Or were they already filming this new one before the old one had viewed entirely??

Rob

My guess that people were able to figure out pretty easily who were the "heroes" and who were the "villains." They've seen all the seasons prior to last season. That means Russell had a target on his head (even if they haven't seen him on tv).

None of them knew anything about Russell because this season started 10 days after the last season finished filming. The Heroes vs Villains were all on their show before the last season of Survivor even aired and I think they were done filming before the last season of Survivor even aired.

There's two schools of thought. One is that it gives Russell an advantage because nobody knows what he was able to pull off in Samoa. The other is that it makes him immediately a threat to the Villains because this is a wild-card that they know nothing about. I think some of the latter will see itself shown and I also think 10 days isn't much time to recover from a full season of Survivor so I can't see Russell being in great physical shape going into this.

Then its a repeat of Rupert. Because Rupert went pretty far too after turning around to do the all-star one he was in which was right after his original appearence.

Um yes...
They got divided into tribes called "Heroes" and "Villains". see here for example.
They know who's labelled what.

I'm not sure what effect that will have, depends on the dynamics of the game. But once the tribes get shaken up, I could see the Heroes having the bigger targets on their backs - Amanda, Tom, Rupert, Colby, Stephenie; they are all very intimidating in many ways. The Villains on the other hand - who really gives a shit about Randy, Coach, Jerri, etc.? They are entertaining for the viewers, but they have absolutely no shot at winning the game, no matter what happens.

My money is on Tyson btw.

I didn't remember if they were going to divide them up that way (or just see who ended up on top).

As noted above, though, that puts Russell in a terrible position. He's on the villain tribe, but the other villains don't know his play. He's too much of a wild card to stay in the game long.

I don't know..most of the people on his Survivor knew his game most of the way, and still they didn't vote him out. I think he has a chance to win..

But I think they should have raised the prize money up to 3 million dollars...Inflation has gone up since the first season!

That's how I feel about most of these "win a million dollars" shows. I think Boston Rob was planning some sort of Amazing-race-like show with a $25 million prize, but I haven't heard anything about it lately.

I used to think this too, but as long as there are people willing to play for just a milion dollars (and they are out there, me!) they don't need to raise the grand prize. Hell, I know people that would play this game just to be out there, away from supermarkets and such, eating rice, so that they would lose weight!

I see no reason to raise the prize money. $1mil seems like a pretty good "cap" right now for prize money on reality shows.

The only Survivor I have ever seen was that all-star one which Amber won. The whole show infuriated me for how dumb everyone played, but nothing infuriated me more them than them giving Rupert a million dollars. He was a TERRIBLE player who deserved to be tossed out.:scream:

So since the first episode is 2 hours long instead of 1 hour I have a conflict with my DVR (and the other 80 shows I record on Thursdays). Does anyone know if the first episode will be rebroadcast?

Or does anyone have a recommendation for (legally) downloading the episode after it airs? (Hopefully not too long after.)

Do you have On Demand? It will probably be there either Friday or during the weekend. CBS is pretty good in updating it sooner rather than later.

I think US-Americans can watch the entire episodes legally and for free on the CBS homepage.
I'm not sure if you can legally download the episodes, maybe i-tunes or so.

To bump this thread, and because I just found this hilarious .gif: Coach rules! :D

The reason to have raised the prize money, for this one only, would have been for PR. Making is 'special'.

I like Boston Rob, but it looks like next week he might not last much longer.

Boston Rob always wins me over for being hard-working and smart. The guy may be a villain, but he works for his wins. In All-Stars, he taught the group how to build a great shelter, and, in Heroes vs. Villains, he taught the group how to make fire without a flint. He is also at least partially responsible for their come-from-behind win at the first immunity challenge (kicking some hero butt with the puzzle).

He was smart not to tell the heroes group about the villains having fire (as it would put a target on his back as being "the leader" of the villains). Though, he should have kept his mouth shut about his tribe's women being "stronger."

I'm hoping the preview is misleading and that he will be able to continue.
