Final Cover for Unspoken Truth.

It is pretty, but I still am of the opinion that it seems... I don't know, exactly, but I just think that there could have been a better choice than towers of Vulcan. I think I read that MWB says that the unspoken truths the title refers to are of the Vulcan people, so I understand it, but I would have appreciated something that could have been indicative of Saavik on it, given that she's the focus character. I know there would have been clashes about Kristie Alley versus Robin Curtis if Saavik had been on the cover, but maybe clashing IDIC/Romulan Empire symbols?

While I think it's a cool image, I do agree that it really doens't tell you much about the book. Other than that it involves Vulcans or Vulcan.

I have never seen Enterprise so it doesn't even tell me that - they could have used a Vulcan car park for all the interest that elicits from me.

Huh. I thought it was a Romulan skyline.

Anyway, reminds me of the Chrysler Building, which is my favorite part of the New York skyline, so that's cool.

And it preserves the aura of mystery around just what the "unspoken truth" (actually, there are several) really is.

So it works for me. :D

Meh. Though I guess putting Saavik's mug on the cover probably wasn't marketable (not to mention which one do you use?).

Well, I suppose if the author likes it... Besides which, i know nothing about grapic design and making a marketable book cover. :)

BTW, garamet, I've been looking forward to this book since it was announced.

Maybe it's time to nip the issue of Saavik in the bud, pay for both Kirstie Alley's and Robin Curtis' likeness, do a morph of both of 'em, and declare, once and for all, or at least until one of 'em appears on screen again as Saavik, that the mashup you see on the cover is her.

Does a picture of a generic building really have much more pop?

I guess maybe they were thinking potential readers might react with a "who's that? I don't remember her from the show with the bald guy."

but they might go "Wow it's that building from that one episode of the Star Trek show that nobody tuned into with that guy from Quantum Leap?" ;)
