Stop NASA From Bombing the Moon!

Dusty Ayres

Commodore
That's right, you heard it here correctly and from last year;

Twenty years before a powerful syndicate of military-industrial criminals conspired to plant a US flag on the Moon, a similar clique of madmen plotted to fire a nuclear warhead-tipped intercontinental ballistic missile at the lunar face. Code-named "Project A119," this plan devised by Cold War-era Air Force and weapons manufacturers called for a massive nuclear explosion that would be clearly visible from anywhere on Earth. Researchers struggled in vain to find any pretext, any shred of legitimate scientific value, to glean from this sickening display of militarist impunity. But the sole objective of Project A119 was to terrorize into submission every human on the planet (especially those who had never heard of Hiroshima or Nagasaki) with a demonstration of how the US ruling class was technologically adept and morally bankrupt enough to commit such an unimaginable poetic atrocity. [The scheme was fronted by Dr Leonard Reiffel at the Pentagon-backed Armour Foundation. The latr Carl Sagan did mathematical modeling for the project, which was eventually abandoned. AC/JSC.]

And now, once again, there are plans to bomb the Moon. This time the unilateral strike is aimed at the Moon’s South Pole and the payload will be delivered by the LCROSS (Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite) spacecraft; the excuse given is that this is an effort to find water deep under lunar surface. The craft was launched in late June and is currently orbiting the Earth until it finds its target; if all goes according to plan, the M-Day bombing will be October 8, 2009.

The plan is this: the LCROSS first shoots off its 2,300-pound spent booster-rocket at the lunar target zone. Four minutes later, in a scheme apparently inspired by fanatical terrorist airline hijackers, the rest of the robotic LCROSS craft slams into the same area. Like crazed kamikaze paparazzi, the craft will snap photos and transmit data on the first strike back to NASA’s mad bombers before immolating itself in a second explosion. This violent hi-tech sci-fi spectacle will cost anywhere up to $600 million, a price tag that is an outrageous insult to the millions of working people unable to feed, house, or medically treat their families. (As Gil Scott-Heron lamented in 1974: "How come there ain’t no money here? Hmm! Whitey’s on the Moon…")

No War on the Moon!
In Defense of the Dark Side of the Moon

And here's their petition: Stop NASA From Bombing the Moon!

This is why I hate the left sometimes.

That's not "the left." I'm on the left and I find these people ridiculous. Being liberal is, among other things, about embracing science and progress, about supporting the use of federal resources to advance human knowledge and prosperity. The people behind this petition aren't liberals, just morons. If they imagine they're on the left, then they've missed the point -- as much as extremist morons like Limbaugh and Coulter have missed the point of conservatism.

This.

We must test our Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator on the Moon before we use it on the Earth. It obstructs our view of Venus dont you know.

I am confused. This happened last year. What are we talking about? Is someone trying to stop something that happened already?

Nice solid Left-wing post.

What's the over/under on this being just another drive-by thread by Dusty Ayres?

That would probably be a sensible thing to do, in the minds of these protesters.

Still, it's a shame NASA reduced the moon to rubble with their infernal nucular cannon :p

Yeah. These people aren't "left" as much as they are "lunatics".

The problem is, with the rise of the internet, these people are what represents the left to everybody else in society. Wherever I go on the 'Net, there they are. And they are always comparing NASA with the military industrial complex simply because some of the companies that make spacecraft are also the ones that build military craft as well. Also, their argument about NASA being something we don't need has permeated into society to such an extent that nothing can be done like what was done only forty years ago.

That's your fault for not doing your research. Beck is a damned loon but I know he doesn't represent everyone who's right-of-center.

You have to love some of the out-of-touch-with-reality comments posted on the petition:
The repercussions of this are enourmous! I'm shocked that it was ever a consideration let alone a scheduled event! I cannot imagine that this bombing won't negatively impact our earth and stellar environment. And beyond that, once we cross this line, what's next? The benefits DO NOT outweigh the detriments. PLEASE, for our children, DO NOT DO THIS!!!!
Did this person think we were blowing up the entire moon or something?
The stupidity of mankind and their poor choices never fail to astonish me, and as for "our President Obama", what happen to his big talk about change? But then I guess we will all see a massive change worldwide when he allows the bombing of the Moon to actually occur. If you want to know wher Obabma stands inregards to his sympathy for the American peoples plight and the continued stability of the Universe and the Moon, just look into his eyes when he is speaking about love, peace and unity for all of mankind, the eyes belie his impassioned words. May the Goddess protect us all from this insanity. Love to you all.
Would it be possible for the wrong people to have so much power? Would it affect tides etc? Who can say? Indeed, would anyone say even if it were true? The whole planet is at stake here
"If the true intent of the LCROSS mission moon bombing is a hostile act by NASA against known extraterrestrial civilizations and settlements on the moon, then NASA and by extension the U.S. government are guilty of aggressive war which is the most serious of war crimes under the U.N. Charter and the Geneva Conventions, to which the U.S. is subject. The U.N. Outer Space Treaty, which the U.S. has ratified, requires that “ The moon and other celestial bodies shall be used by all States Parties to the Treaty exclusively for peaceful purposes. The establishment of military bases, installations and fortifications, the testing of any type of weapons and the conduct of military manoeuvres on celestial bodies shall be forbidden.” 98 nations have ratified and 125 nations have signed the U.N. Outer Space Treaty." http://www.examiner.com/x-2912-Seattle-Exopolitics-Examiner~y2009m6d19-NASA-moon-bombing-violates-space-law--may-cause-conflict-with-lunar-extraterrestrial-civilizations
Edit: After posting this, I followed that last link. I then sprained one of my eyes by rolling it too hard.

The latest intel points toward Bin Laden hiding in a lunar cave. We can't take any chances by NOT bombing.
