I watched an Alliance person do the quest and I was so glad my allegiance has gone over to Horde. Glad to hear that Horde get to do the quest too.
The long and the short answer is there are people who hate Varian Wrynn because he's an asshole, and those who feel his assholishness is justified on account of the evil deeds done by some Horde members (i.e. this whole quest chain, for example). I've had many very pointless debates on that subject. For Warcraft nerds he tends to trigger an immediate reaction one way or the other.
I don't play Alliance, but if I did I think I'd like Wrynn a hell of a lot more than I like Garrosh Hellscream on the Horde.
like him or not, its certainly fun when you get to rape UC with him and Jaina when you do the Dragonblight quests... 
when wrath launched i was the first in my guild to get to that point and see the video and go on the quest, i was yelling all kinds of crap in vent about how awesome it was. they didnt know what the hell i was talking about! hahaha

Nobody likes Garrosh.
He goes from "I'm so emo" to "RARGH! Alliance must die and Thrall is weak". So he's never likeable.
And he's going to be our leader come cata.
It's almost enough to make me switch back to alli; if only I could convince my guild to as well.

Poor Cairne Bloodhoof, I have defended his keep on many occasions from the foolish Alliance dogs who dare tread near.

He's a good character though, one of the truly noble racial leaders.

The Horde is crazy...I am just trying to quest and get character level up and Horde guys are challanging me and stuff...jeez-a-lou.

Cairne is a pretty fun character, actually - but yeah, Garrosh is a dick. Garrosh's dickishness may be intended to offset how damn cool Thrall is, though. It's not fair the Horde got Thrall, I suppose, so we must also have Garrosh. Evens things out, I guess.
I'd say Hordeside it's the Trolls and Blood Elves who got screwed as far as racial leaders go. Vol'jin is just a non-entity, and did Lor'themar Theron ever even get his own vocal response? He's just a placeholder pussy, really, a Bolvar Fordragon without even that charisma.

Seriously, if Necro is wrong, she makes me not want to be right.Well, to be fair we spent half of the Burning Crusade trying to exterminate former Blood Elf leaders.
Ironically, the most bad ass elf (of any kind) in the game is Undead.
And I usually don't go for the massive midriff-baring look.

I am back on WoW for a month now...got a 30 day trial my brother didn't use.
I've been playing less than I used to lately since my writing has really been taking off. I'm still getting in my requisite three days of raiding a week however.
We almost had Professor Putricide 25 man down this week- got him to %47. Malleable goo ftl.

BTW, I just read a long, long ass thread on WoW Europe about the privacy concerns regarding the new armoury features (RSS feeds on recent activities). One player is suing Blizzard over invasion of privacy.

I'm not European but suing over privacy concerns of a fictional character you play in a video game that has absolutely no bearing on who you really are sounds stupid. At best I can understand it might make your account more high profile to attempts to hack/steal but even that's a stretch since they can't say "player x is on account y" and go after you.
More likely they don't like the fact some random trade troll can see their information and use it to be an even bigger troll or they just really suck and don't want everyone to know it.
